'Rare'/'Limited'/'Hard(er)' To Find SteelBook/Other Metal Eds List & Chat

*PLEASE NOTE: This list is a 'guide' only and compiled based on a variety of factors including community 'feedback' and 'suggestions'. Steelbook collecting is HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, and different collectors have different ideas of 'rarity', 'limited', 'sought after', and related terms-all of which may change at the drop of a hat with re-releases, or new info.

I posted this in another forum before but I prefer this one, so I try again here. This is an ongoing list that combines a variety of factors that may contribute to the scarcity or rarity of these Steelbooks.-Sirjump

We started off with a "ranked" list, but as many folks may rank items differently, a general "resource" list of harder to find Steelbooks/Rare titles helps the community more. Feel free to comment so we can consider adding or subtract. -Digitalbabe

Yes you'r right it is still in stock at 2 big shops in Swe but the cost is like 35 Euro with shipping in sweden. Discshop are all out and i think only they ship to EU. I have 2 sealed copies Though i think most don't fancy the double and prefer the likes of the german 3D version.


Hate myself for not buying Ben Hur Tin in time for silly 25 Euro. That one can't have been made in more then a couple of K.s.

However this steelbook is still available... will be OOP sooner or later.

I nominate a couple more to be added to this list:

Terminator Salvation Future Shop Ironpack back in 2008 I believe &

Sherlock Holmes Ironpack from Future Shop as well.

Take a quick look around and you'll find its very tough to find them if at all.

A third nomination for Book of Eli Future Shop steelbook.

'Rare' for this list refers to the likes of John Rambo, but the list as the title implies, also includes items that the original retailer is no longer shipping and those that are now limited because of other factors, or cannot be 'regularly' obtained.It is not just based on 'price', 'print qty' etc etc. 'Rarity/Sought After/Limited, etc' are subjective terms for different people, and our list will remain reflective of those different perceptions, as Steelbook collecting remains highly speculative, and new collectors, at all levels of collecting are joining the site everyday. Please see OP.

If this Steelbook comes back into stock at Amazon.de or does not end up being the more sought after version, between it and the reprint, we'll consider removing it from the list. Thanks.

I see your point but having steelbooks that are not rare on the list may mislead collectors that are new to collecting and may there for pay a Premium for a title that can be found much cheaper.
My Thoughts on rare steelbooks is when a rare steelbbok appears on ebay etc it goes for a premium price and is highly sought after and alot of titles on the main list are not so rare.
