*PLEASE NOTE: This list is a 'guide' only and compiled based on a variety of factors including community 'feedback' and 'suggestions'. Steelbook collecting is HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, and different collectors have different ideas of 'rarity', 'limited', 'sought after', and related terms-all of which may change at the drop of a hat with re-releases, or new info.

Please visit the Steelbook forum, if you have more detailed questions regarding specific titles, and their 'current' status, as this list is 'dynamic' and changes over time. *

I posted this in another forum before but I prefer this one, so I try again here. This is an ongoing list that combines a variety of factors that may contribute to the scarcity or rarity of these Steelbooks.-Sirjump

We started off with a "ranked" list, but as many folks may rank items differently, a general "resource" list of harder to find Steelbooks/Rare titles helps the community more. Feel free to comment so we can consider adding or subtract. -Digitalbabe

:scat:Keep sharing your thoughts & together we can help the list evolve!:)

Possible criteria as to what makes a steelbook rare/hard to find:

* General interest in movie
* Availability at retailer & exclusivity
* Print run
* Country of origin & region code
* Steelcase design
* (Initial) price
* Individually numbered items
* Print Errors
* Hype
* Price on 3rd party marketplaces

I think if you go by thread title, the FNAC titles definitely fit. They are mostly rare and hard to find. If they are worth the value placed on them should be covered in a new thread.

If Bidou, Dji or an other France member decide to begin a groupbuy for FNAC exclusives, it's no more hard to find? Don't get me wrong, I'm also a big fan of goodies etc. :)

If they (their choice) commit (decide it is possible) to do a GB, yes, less supply issues. BTW, I'm not flaming any France member at all! And no, I'm not getting you wrong, valued forum member :scat:

+1 FNAC SBs Exclusives do defo fit in. But they seems to be a misunderstanding to what a FNAC exclusive is.

My definition, a release which the seller offers a different packaged item than can be supplied by another seller.

For example:
Inglourious Basterds
FNAC Exclusive with Artcards - Rare
FNAC - SB release - This is not the exclusive release but people say it is because is was bought in FNAC!
Amazon FR - SB release

Was "Body of Lies" (incl. booklet) ever available anywhere in France OTHER than in FNAC as my sealed copy with booklet has FNAC price sticker on back BUT no FNAC exclusive banner across the front like ususal ?? Thanks.

If you ask me, these FNAC releases are pretty overrated. Yes, you get an extra exclusive booklet which is in French text. In the end it's all about the steelbook it self. Which you can grab everywhere. There are tons of Conan steelbooks in France.

The only real exclusive FNAC were X-Men: Wolverine. That was a 100% FNAC exclusive. Plus Inception Dream Mallete limited to: #9.999. Comes with exclusive goodies, than all other briefcases did not have.

What's so special about Hellboy II with booklet? Nothing, Amazon.fr also had this steelbook in first. Same goes for Body of Lies.

Then you can add every FNAC steelbook that came with booklet.
---------------------------------------------------------------

-The Hurt Locker Korean steelbook is still not on the list
-Black Swan limited boxset from France is also not on the list: This one is limited to 1.500 pieces and is numbered and was quickly sold out.

+1 I whole wholeheartedly agree. I couldn't care less about FNAC release aside from maybe two or three of them that were truly exclusives. I actually don't care for most french releases all together as they have had their fair share of problems like forced subs, etc. making them not worth it to me.
The only two french release I ever wanted were Wolverine and GI Joe.

Hi X-welcome to the site! We have the post limit in place,because some forum areas are targets of spammers and scammers. We hope you continue to contribute at our site, and then can access all areas. Feel free to PM with any questions! :scat:

As a pretty big disney collector, shouldn't bolt French Metalpack be on this list? Just my opinion since it took me a long time to even see one come up on ebay.

Cowboys & Aliens from HMV UK is now OOP and hard to find.

It's not really hard to find in the UK yet. It's still on the shelves of various HMV stores up and down the country here. I know someone in the North of England who visited a few HMVs in his area last week and he said they had copies in every store.

Hey guys-keep the feedback coming-remember this list is 'dynamic' and we can always update it, as more chime in, regarding the titles suggested!:scat:

I doubt many people have it on their priority list. It is a metalpak afterall. I have rare metalpaks, but I don't think they should be on this list.

I guess we can put Despicable Me and Knight and Day on the list too, but I don't see them as being sought after like volt is either.
