*PLEASE NOTE: This list is a 'guide' only and compiled based on a variety of factors including community 'feedback' and 'suggestions'. Steelbook collecting is HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, and different collectors have different ideas of 'rarity', 'limited', 'sought after', and related terms-all of which may change at the drop of a hat with re-releases, or new info.

Please visit the Steelbook forum, if you have more detailed questions regarding specific titles, and their 'current' status, as this list is 'dynamic' and changes over time. *

I posted this in another forum before but I prefer this one, so I try again here. This is an ongoing list that combines a variety of factors that may contribute to the scarcity or rarity of these Steelbooks.-Sirjump

We started off with a "ranked" list, but as many folks may rank items differently, a general "resource" list of harder to find Steelbooks/Rare titles helps the community more. Feel free to comment so we can consider adding or subtract. -Digitalbabe

:scat:Keep sharing your thoughts & together we can help the list evolve!:)

Possible criteria as to what makes a steelbook rare/hard to find:

* General interest in movie
* Availability at retailer & exclusivity
* Print run
* Country of origin & region code
* Steelcase design
* (Initial) price
* Individually numbered items
* Print Errors
* Hype
* Price on 3rd party marketplaces

Death Proof (DE)

What about Death Proof (DE), shouldn't it be on the list? It's getting increasingly harder to find, especially in new/mint condition. I totally hated the movie even though I'm quite the QT fan, but that steel looks pretty hot!!

Yeah that is pretty rare too I guess, that + CnA UK would make my list 23 :hilarious:

don't worry buddy, you don't need to buy anything new and I bet your 23 will become 30 by the end of the year :hilarious: Eventually, all your steelbook will be in the list someday :D

Might as well add A-team JP steelbook to the list now that its OOS at amazon.jp :D

I knew this would happen to the jp steels, but it is happening sooner than I thought.

+1

Japanese Steelbook has the highest quality than the others.
Once it went OOS, it became very difficult to find.
I am pretty sure the new wave of Japnese steelbooks will be awesome again!

Im glad I did not hesitate ordering A-Team, Unstoppable, Narnia & Knight & Day etc, they all quality built with some great glossy art on the front/back & also inside, they all sell out quick or sooner or later. The upcoming releases will be no different & the customs on top is unavoiadable but worth it ;)

I have the thai steel of unstoppable and knight and day. Also the metalpack of a-team also from thailand. Are theses as rare as some of the JP ones? I would think they are the same apart from the metalpack as thailand often repackage other country's steels (like predators uk for example).

Hey Orekul...The JP steels are considered top quality and very collectable.

unstoppable TH SB - I read this is not the same as the JP version a few posts back. I thought it was the same but with a different disc

K&D - Are you sure this is a SB as I thought there was only a TH MP

A-team TH MP not the same artwork as JP SB

To answer your question, TH MPs/SB might be rare as some JP SBs but not as collectable.

From what I have read on here, the unstoppable is the same steel but the thai version has a sticker on the front, a paper backing and a different disc.
Although I have not actually seen a jp one with my own eyes.

You are right the knight and day is a metalpack, didn't actually look at it. As is the a-team. should they be on this list though as surely they are as rare.

Thanks for replying and helping me out hub.

FYI, don't want to make a big fuss, but please try to avoid using that word below...it's considered offensive. Try to use "JP" or "JAPAN", etc...
