Steelbook collecting is HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, and different collectors have different ideas of 'rarity', 'limited', 'sought after', and related terms-all of which may change at the drop of a hat with re-releases, or new info.

I posted this in another forum before but I prefer this one, so I try again here. This is an ongoing list that combines a variety of factors that may contribute to the scarcity or rarity of these Steelbooks.-Sirjump

We started off with a "ranked" list, but as many folks may rank items differently, a general "resource" list of harder to find Steelbooks/Rare titles helps the community more. Feel free to comment so we can consider adding or subtract. -Digitalbabe

Hi wreck, yeh mate, as Munstarz40 said,..It's a copy of BATTLE LOS ANGELES JAPAN...Iv'e been trying to get one for ages, finally found one in the US........
BELIEVE ME, bloody hard to find and even harder to get,there are more IRONMAN (FS) out there than this.
That's why i think it should go on the endangered list

Hmmm, theres 6 of them on ebay right now. Is it truly that rare? They all got a BIN price of roughly $100, but that doesn't tell me much. You want it bad enough, theres plenty to be had. What I'm real surprised about is I see 1 FS version. They had so many when it first came out, I just bought 1 copy.

The Thor steelbook fits both criteria Wreck mentioned as does the HMV exclusive of Drive. I propose both titles be added to this list.

I nominate X-MEN: First Class Aussie Metalpak for this list. It was embossed, all english title, no printed ratings logos, no printed back or blu banner and no one seems to know it exists, lol. No really though Im pretty sure its a rare'ish one out there.


2nd nomination Im less sure about but how about Prince of Persian Ironpack from Future Shop. Pretty limited release from the seems of it.

3rd nomination... Hurt Locker Korea. Limited run I think and now OOP/OOS.

Rating logo is a sticker on the first release, printed on the second. Of course if it is sealed, that's not a very helpful fact.
