*PLEASE NOTE: This list is a 'guide' only and compiled based on a variety of factors including community 'feedback' and 'suggestions'. Steelbook collecting is HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, and different collectors have different ideas of 'rarity', 'limited', 'sought after', and related terms-all of which may change at the drop of a hat with re-releases, or new info.

Please visit the Steelbook forum, if you have more detailed questions regarding specific titles, and their 'current' status, as this list is 'dynamic' and changes over time. *

I posted this in another forum before but I prefer this one, so I try again here. This is an ongoing list that combines a variety of factors that may contribute to the scarcity or rarity of these Steelbooks.-Sirjump

We started off with a "ranked" list, but as many folks may rank items differently, a general "resource" list of harder to find Steelbooks/Rare titles helps the community more. Feel free to comment so we can consider adding or subtract. -Digitalbabe

:scat:Keep sharing your thoughts & together we can help the list evolve!:)

Possible criteria as to what makes a steelbook rare/hard to find:

* General interest in movie
* Availability at retailer & exclusivity
* Print run
* Country of origin & region code
* Steelcase design
* (Initial) price
* Individually numbered items
* Print Errors
* Hype
* Price on 3rd party marketplaces

TDK is still quite easy to find :). CA TW needs to go on the list.

I think this thread needs updating?

And so are zombieland , batman begins jp, death race, metropolis and alot of other titles that are on this list. All are easy to find just not in the price range collector would like them to be.

no TDK is easy to find because everyone has them lol. Just because its OOP doesnt mean its rare. The others you mentioned are rarer to find and more expensive.

You can definitely remove Sucker Punch from the list. Both Walmart and Future Shop have restocked that one, except the Future Shop one is the crappy re-release without inside art and 1 disc only. Looks like BB USA is dumping its unsold stock on us :(

Edit: you might want to add "Hunger Games: District 12 Future Shop Exclusive MINT". Only 2 days old and already a unicorn :joy:

Fixed. Thanks Biscuit!

I think having a condition of one vs the other is not a good idea for the list. Your basically chaning the whole rule to this thread.

Whats next, you gonna start changing the list with sealed vs non sealed? Se what I am getting at. Its either all or nothing.

I think if Girl With The Dragon Tattoo JP is on the list, than Dark Knight JP has to be on the list. At least Dark Knight is OOS.

If it helps, there is a list of the possible criteria for rare in the original post.

Ash, if everything went OOP and considered 'rare' because you cannot source one from the local store we might as well put every single steel on the 'rare' list. How about Predator? Alien Anthology Play.com? That is why I argue TDK should not be there. Many people have multiple copies so IMO they are easy to obtain. Just do a few haggling and a bit of shopping with a few members you got it.

This is what I consider to be rare to keep it simple:
- Difficult to find
- Expensive

So is $100-$150 not expensive enough

How about Avatar Extended Edition Korea?

---------- Post added at 08:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:34 AM ----------

But it's not difficult to find :). It cost about $85 ish to obtain one from Japan to the UK

From where?

Ironman FS is not difficult to find either.
