Watched for the first time. Unbelievably gorgeous set pieces, unbelievably bad cliche storyline. Script wasted on such talented actors. A visual feast that’s lite on the goth and horror.

I did like the slow build up and tension of the first one. From what I have seen of the second one it does look very good though. I can imagine if your not a big Emily Blunt fan that would make a difference. I was a bit wary of the sequel as it wasn’t being directed by Denis Villeneuve again. Hopefully I enjoy it as much as the first one though!:)
Second is not a patch on the first IMO. In fact it simply comes across as a standard low grade thriller with plenty of action.

The first was a slow burner for sure. But the direction was exemplary. The second takes the the action into fantasy territory, so you’re left with a decent action caper much like The Transporter. The films are chalk and cheese.

I still haven’t seen it yet! It’s good to have a few different opinions though. I’m not expecting it to be as good as the first but I will go in open minded.:)

Soldado is good. It’s a fun ride for sure. For me it just doesn’t have the magic of Dennis’ masterpiece.

Never really considered myself a huge Carpenter fan, but after recently watching both The Fog and Prince of Darkness for the first time, I'm now realising I actually love the majority of his work!

Amazing remake of Argento's horror classic! This is way more my cup of tea than the original. At times it does feel a little bit bloated though because of all the sidethreads the movie indulges in. However, I thought the actual scenes at the dance academy were fantastic! I really dug how bleak and grotesque it was. Especially the finale was bonkers. It's a shame Radiohead's Thom Yorke felt like he had to sing through it though. Apart from his singing, I loved the soundtrack as well.

Death wish (2018)- I thought Eli Roth did a pretty good job with this. Some of the acting wasn’t the best but it was an enjoyable watch. You could definatly see some of his horror roots coming through with the kills!

Laurence Anyways (2012)- I wasn’t sure if this was my kind of film but I really enjoyed It. Some great cinematography and the soundtrack was really good. Only downside was it was a bit too long. Probably my second favourite Xavier Dolan film after Mommy.

This was a unique viewing for me. This was in 4k on my new Sony 55 inch OLED. It was if I was watching the film for the 1st time. It's an astonishing film and a technical masterpiece. There was so much I had never seen before. The death of Douglas Rain made it a bit of a sad viewing but HAL lives on. I hope 2010 gets the same deluxe treatment this Warner restoration got..... High tech never looked this good!
