A new story is so refreshing, and Kong is the massive Kong he should be. I'm not throwing shade at Peter Jackson's Kong because I love that movie, but this was a wild ride, dudes! and Kong is indeed King. I won't give anything away, other than to warn you not to miss the added scene after all the credits roll.
So, I'm gonna go ahead and assume you have never seen Apocalypse Now.:naughty:

First time watch for me, mainly because I always held off watching it due to my fear of birds, which I've always blamed this film for because I happened to see bits of it when I was a kid and it obviously terrified me... having now watched it properly I found it quite laughable though. Not one of Hitchcock's best IMO.

Haha! Yeah- I've been seeing less films, lately- and with the exception of Spider-Man: Homecoming, they've all been at least decent. xD
And I agree- Nolan loves this multiplicity effect to his endings where he needs to have 3 stories simultaneously ending- and Dunkirk seems to be 3 stories ending for a solid 90 minutes. I think if the movie was told chronologically, the pacing would have been all over the place- and would've effect the narrative flow of the film. Either way, I think I would be here complaining about it.

I did like Hans Zimmer's score- it perfectly complimented the film. But that being said- I don't remember anything about the score being particularly memorable outside of it's visual accompaniments... I'd probably place this Zimmer/ Nolan score somewhere below Interstellar but on par with Inception.
Hey, no issue with complaining. After all, we want all the films we watch to be the best versions of themselves.
Technically, it's one story told from 3 different perspectives :D

POTC Salazar's Revenge - 1N.png 1N.png 1N.pngI liked the first 3 movies, 4th was ok, but this felt like they wore just trying to do something to make yet another sequel.

Power Rangers - 1N.png HalfN.png Power Rangers still aren´t for me :censored: For me this seemed to be just a run of the mill B syfy flick :meh: there was only a few scenes that i kinda liked (thats why i gave that one full ninja)

CHiPS - 1N.png 1N.png 1N.png 1N.pngReally good action/comedy movie  Even if you are like me and have never seen the tv show, you still can enjoy this flick.

Also the first film to use "Bubble Titles". (The credits look like they are hovering within the environment)
I always remember it being the first time I'd seen them and how impressed I was by it (and still am), but I never knew that it was the first film to actually use that technique. Very cool!

It lacked Life for want of a better word. Simply no dynamics in the film and no moment that was truly scary. It has potential and I saw the ending a mile off..... Big disappointment
This was EXACTLY how I felt about it too. I did think the way they left it open was cool, but yeah... very predictable.

The Atomic Blonde:

An interesting experiment- but overall, an unfocused film. The film attempts to combine the nuance and intrigue of a spy film, with the gritty- fast paced action seen from John Wick a-la Director David Leitch. While the action is good- such action set pieces are too few and far between to qualify the film as an action film- and the pacing of The Atomic Blonde does not lend itself to an action premise in the same ways that John Wick did. Likewise, the spy elements of the film were not nearly as engaging as the film like to think that they are... as the dialogue in the film feels more dull and dry than it does seem intriguing.

The overall product seems like a watered down spy film crossed with a slow (but well executed) action film. Had the film leaned in either action or espionage aspect- it would have been better- but the final product just seems so intensely mediocre.

Still- the film is dripping with 80's style. If you like that, there it is. If you think it's becoming somewhat overused in Hollywood, well... there it ALSO is.
