Yes thanks for that wreck as I'm amazed mine wasn't a disaster came in one of those play jiffy bags, absolute disgrace in packaging for steels.

Mine arrived in cardboard today in perfect condition, :D i own about 30 or 40 steels and ive never had any trouble with any damage , ever
Looks like Play.com changed their packaging, now they use thin bubble mailer to ship... not sure what's worse.... overall 3 copies damaged,

  1. with 2 tiny dings
  2. bend, was able to fix
  3. small hit on front

overall 60% of chances to get a damage SteelBook.... sure not good:eek:

Must admit I was shocked when my 5 were delivered in Jiffy bags, but all mine were in perfect condition. Must be down to the delivery guys, However for steelbooks everyone should be using nice lite boxes with bubble wrap (well we can hope)

A lot of love for this movie. Im surprised. The CG was amazing Ill give it that. The scene on golden gate bridge was pretty epic. But I still had a hard time getting into it. I thought the story, script and directing/editing was just lets say bad. Beautiful steelbook though and sad to hear about the bad packaging from play.com.

it seems HMV.com and play.com need to step up there packaging game. All it takes is one layer of bubble wrap...

I guess it's a good thing we can't order from Play.com. I wish everybody would use HMV's individual cardboard box, I have never gotten a damaged steel from them. Just curious are all Play.com steels region B?

Got my first two last 2 weeks or so, one arrived in mint condition while the other (for a trade on another forum) badly dented, returned the dented back and asked for refund as the item at the time was OOS, the following day it was available again so I quickly placed an order for one (again for my trade) only to find out that play sent me a replacement for the dented one, so now I got two on the way

Hopefully at least one of them turns up safe and sound now as it's again OOS/if not OOP for good this time around....

Had 4 now and all have made it OK, but purely down to luck (and a careful postie)! - had two different jiffy bags, the wrap over cardboard box and something more akin to the ones used by HMV!

Had a nightmare with Play with this title. I pre-ordered and my (large) parcel contained The Blue Planet on DVD rather than Rise Steelbook. I guess they were close with the "Planet" aspect. By the time I went back to Play it was sold out and all they could offer was a refund. Lucikly (as with all previous titles) they had more stock in on Tuesday-Friday of last week. Think it's officially sold out now.

One arrived miraculously in mint condition even though it was packed in the same flimsy jiffy bag they sent the 1st one in

Off to his owner now :naughty:

Can't believe how many people love this steel. I really thought that the printed back + printed rating logos + no inside art would kill the sales. Heh, what do you know.

I'm waiting on my french edition and will decide what to do with this one as I'm not convinced yet.

Got both now :scat:

Even stickerbooks are better than a Steel with a title like 'La Planète des singes: les origines' :hilarious:
