They could easily increase print run to 4K or 5K, with IM and Drive it is really reasonable.

It might not be so straightforward. The studios prefer limited qty, limited run editions, and the price of a licence to distribute twice the quantity could be much more expensive. It's not necessarily the case that the more you have manufactured the cheaper it is per unit.

It was somehow easier to order than last time amelie.

Wanted to pay by credit card but did not work (didn´t undertstand this keyboard thing message).
Tried paypal and it worked. No big problems.

1x lenti
1 x 1/4 slip
2 x full slip

with K-paket

account message: payment complete

But it was not easy to stay calm and concentrate on order while being on work with lot of customers who disturb my ordering ;)

In the end I have to say it went through smoothly. It is a good day :scat:

For some reason I woke up at 4 am!
Cook some scrambled eggs and ham….coffee…some paper…shower…dress up….
Logged in at Kimchi at 6:50 am (10 minutes to blast off)
Plan was to get 2 Lentis and 1 Full slip…
5 minutes to go…saw a Flash TV show trailer 5:23 long…it was good! So good I lost track of time! SH*T!
I clicked what I need at Kimchi…said I need to log on AGAIN! SH*T AGAIN!
Took a long time…finally logged in…got my 3 items on the CART…one item is NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE…SH*T..(x3)
It kicked me out of the cart and deleted everything…managed to get 1 Lenti only! Sheesh! What a way to start the day!. Hahaha!

Moral of the story…don’t watch YouTube Trailers 5 minutes before Start Time at Kimchi!

Hope everybody at least got one…

I highly doubt that license cost will negate the effect of increased cash flow due to bigger run. Demand is not that sensitive to print run for IM and Drive.

But this is my (or ours) speculations anyway. Kimchi decides print run and orchestrates the whole process, it's their business.

Man how sad is it that I forgot about this preorder lol

I really wouldve like to snatch a full slip edition...

I managed to order the lenti, but I was unable to pay by credit card. I put in all of my card info but there was no option to actually submit it.

I've put a note into Kimchi customer support asking for help in paying with my credit card; I just hope my order went through! Right now, it says "Receipt of Order."

oh man! And you are the slipcover master! :D, I actually wish Kimchi would allow us to buy just the slipcover separately!

I'm confused by people saying that Kimchi should do a 4K print run for Iron Man and Drive etc as there were too few copies of Rush for everyone.

This run WAS a 4k print run - it was just split between the various packages.

2.5K - Lenticular
1.0k - Full Slip
0.5k - 1/4 Slip

Remember that it is the SAME steelbook in every one if those sets, it is just the slip and extras that are different. The main reason that Kimchi blitzes through 4k runs in 30 minutes (whereas some 4k runs on Zavvi take weeks/months to sell) is because they are picking either BIG films that have sold well in steelbook form before or quality smaller titles that have NEVER had a steelbook before and then putting in extra items to sweeten the deal.

Both kinds are likely to sell out pretty fast. The fact they do multiple versions only helps them. How many people tried to buy one of EACH slip today? Would you buy three copies of a 4k Zavvi run (if they were all the same)? Of course not, but by mixing up the packaging Kimchi are selling the same product (with minor differences) to the same customer twice or more.

Not that I have anything against that. Some of their releases have been top quality and the extras are worth me paying a bit more for. My full slip and lenti copies of Rush have cost me about £28 each (with shipping) but that is cheaper than I can buy the UK version for at the moment so is a good deal.

I think the only way they could ensure a ton of copies would be to boost the print run up to about 6k+ and then they would likely be stuck with stock they couldn't sell. Let's not forget that some Kimchi titles have taken a while to sell out so the smaller runs are for their benefit as they don't want to be sat on copies for a long time.

I have a feeling the majority who paid thru credit card still shows "Receipt of Order". Like others previously stated when I checked out I didn't notice a submit button but was still able to complete my order and receive a confirmation email. I've already emailed Tony on whether my order went thru or not.

Love the hobby but it's getting ridiculous at this point....

Me too, didn`t find a button to submit.

You had to scroll over to the right. I had the same thing.

Go back as you might still be able to pay.

Good luck
