As this was designed in partnership with Plain Archive, Kimchi should have taken advantage of PA's robust servers and sold it through their website. That would have made this a better purchasing experience all around. I really hope Kimchi learns from all this, and doesn't keep repeating the same mistakes on future releases.

P.S. Kimchi could have also released this in small quantities i.e. 250 copies during four different times. That would have decreased the server load somewhat.

Totally agree, Chil.
LOL - Once again, you are The Voice of Reason, crying in the wilderness.

If they'd released it in small quantities at four times then their server would have gotten crushed at four different times as opposed to one - it wouldn't have really helped.

They have said they are upgrading the servers and that is the only real solution, so fingers crossed that goes ahead ASAP.

I disagree, with a one copy per customer limit- there would be less server stress as those who managed to get a copy would not try again during the subsequent time slots [ethically speaking]. Instead of everyone at once getting on at the same time.

Ah well I agree with that to an extent - with a 1 per customer limit they could have probably released them all at once and people would have more of a chance of getting one anyway. I suspect we'll never see a 1 per customer limit on ANYTHING but the most limited stuff though (like the Amelie triple pack).

i got an order in but same problem i had with Thor 2 in which it crashes when trying to pay via paypal. Although good news is that i have a order number and ill email Tony (like i did with Thor 2) to rescue my order.

I think they should have limited a copy per person like really?? This is a great movie and I wanted at least a copy of each to collect but with this site it never seems to happen!! I really like how their like this won't sell out in an hour when the 1/4 and full slip sold out in 15 minutes!! This site is god awful and I'm not even gonna bother with drive or iron man cause it will be gone before I can even login or load to the page!! Terrible servers! I imagine people that had tough times like today won't even try for the others as that site is the worst for preordering ever! If your gonna have hot items such as these spend the money to make the servers better please cause they are so so bad!! :(

Also "Plain Archive" has NEVER been tested like this. So there's no guarantee that if they had been available on their site it would have been any better.

I agree with you @earthscope, but their web design is in an other league- not only aesthetically, but also in practical terms. Even if every other aspect was the same, their interface is more robust- which I believe would allow for an easier check out experience. I kept getting errors when checking out with a credit card, on the Kimchi website- as it would not allow me to input my CCV. They also could have split the stock between the two sites, another option to at least try to circumvent the issue. As I customer, I would have been happy to at least see Kimchi try a different approach as they did with the Frozen GB. Either way, at least I got the Lenticular ;)

hey guys, so my order is in the system, but I haven't gotten an e-mail confirm, and I don't think my credit card payment went through either.

Is this something people will normally e-mail Tony about? I got an order of 1 of each - full and lenticular, but don't want to lose them because of all the server trouble that was going on at the time, might have prevented my payment from processing.

Thanks for any help!

I would send an email. Can't be worse than not trying.

Good luck

Cheers

Yeah, I would e-mail Tony. If it says "receipt of order", your order should be reserved. I believe Tony will tell you how you can pay for it, and your status should be updated to "payment completed" afterward.

Check "my account", if it says "payment completed" nothing to worry about; if it says "receipt of order" then it's recommended you contact Tony.
