So it's like no one is buying this? Or is it more a "this is crap but I will buy it" scenario? :shipped:
Undoubtably the latter. Not many premium editions of Shaving Ryan's errr Saving Private Ryan in the physical media space and who knows when/if we'll get another. The thought put into the art is certainly lackluster but a premium release of a Spielbergian classic should never be taken for granted, caveat being I'm a Spielberg shill so take what I say with a ladle of salt.

How is the lenti slip better? Tired old poster.

How is second FS better – also just a 'large photo of a face', as complained here...

How is the third 'special' slip better? Same tired old art as on all DVDs and steelbooks most bought, with a repackaged digibook everyone bought separately.

How is the OC better? Same tired old art repeated!

How is the steelbook better? Same front and worse back!

I decided NOT to buy HDZeta back in the day.

I will buy Manta, all the slips are great, cannot decide which I like better, so getting a OC.

Seems to have a lot of fans elsewhere judging by comments here and what I've seen myself.
I'm sure it'll be gone like Interstellar. I'm betting I'll only be able to buy 1 extra slip direct, so I'm joining a GB.
Best war movie (considered by most, not saying it's true), no premium release for about 10 years, only one basic tired art steel 5 years ago, no other special editions – it'll sell out in 60 seconds.

With a bunch of people missing out on HDZ, new collectors, or not yet having upgraded to 4k, I reckon this will fly off the shelf.

Happy to be proven wrong cos I'll be buying (trying) direct.

I agree. I was on the fence. I don’t have a premium. I really dig the movie. Steelbook is OK for me. Better than the WWA I already have in hands. Slips are meh. I just can’t decide between FS and DL B. FS remains the safest bet. I don’t think DL B’s artwork will do great on a lenticular.

A copy of HDZETA's release would probably be a better choice if you don't already have a premium of this.

The secondary market will probably be flooded with them once this releases.......

One thing that annoys the hell out of me and I can’t work out why it was chosen. The back of lenti A. It’s possibly the worst image you can choose for a lenti. The foreground is out of focus and the background is misty. I don’t understand why they went with that image. Now if it was a single lenti, maybe. Front lenti works and then the back with a FS type finish on that image. Argh I just don’t understand why it always has to be 2 double lentis now. That’s really starting to wind me up with manta

I think the booklet art, whilst is nothing special would’ve made a much better full slip. And then use that wrap around full slip image as the booklet. It’s little changes and decisions like this that would improve the edition. I don’t know if it’s paramount deciding what’s what or manta with just poor decision making and no creative flair anymore but this seems to be an ongoing issue over multiple editions over the past couple of years with what arts they are choosing for the slips. Not every release but most times now they miss the mark and just get it wrong and on too far too many slips with screen shots and OC’s usually stealing the best art available. Needs to stop. They need to up their game.

Said it before but when you strictly stick to “we have to release a film every 3 weeks” it takes the charm and excitement out of it. It’s less fun, less desirable hobby. It feels like less effort is put into to each release. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s why they opted for 2 double lentis the past few years because it’s easier than dealing with a single lenti with a full slip finish on one side.

Yeah im still going to attempt for Lenti B. It’s the best of a bad bunch for me.

this is exactly it, it's gonna sell well regardless as a bunch of people missed out on the hdzeta release back in the day or didnt care for it or werent in the premium game when zeta released theirs or don't want to pay current resale prices. Alot of new collector's now as well, so getting a premium release of SPR at cost price is ideal to them.

Having still images on every single slip is super underwhelming to me but i'm someone that always leans to wanting original poster art on slips or something more creative.

or to 1, like their manta lab global line

they should create a new line for movies, where the choice of artworks is very limited.
What would the benefit be for Manta Lab to reduce the number of slips? They would make less money and it might not even be financially feasible to release certain titles producing only 1 or even 2 slips. They're a small company with a very niche product and customer base. Plus, we all know that the Saving Private Ryan preorder will sell out, whether it happens in 30 seconds or several hours.

I'm sure that there are plenty of people who think one or more of the slips are perfectly fine. I personally don't mind the FS (although I don't think spot foil suits it and now I can't stop seeing the guy who looks like he's taking a nap) and DL-B. DL-A is okay but not as good IMO.

I’d love 60 seconds that would be an eternity. I’d say odds of getting a OC are very small you would have to be perfect with your checkout to even have a chance.
I love the blu ray store wants $429.99 for a Group Buy copy, who’s smoking what over there? God bless if they can actually get people to pay those prices.

Must be chilling on a yacht somewhere with those margins.
