Dear Customers,

Thank you for your patience whilst we’ve developed our 4K restoration plans for David Fincher’s Seven. We’re pleased to announce that the restoration will finally be released in early 2025, with a brand-new 4K scan carefully overseen by Fincher.

We will be releasing two products: a Digipak and a Steelbook release, both developed and designed by the director himself. These products will replace the previously announced What’s in the Box and Ultimate Collector’s Edition versions.

Pre-order for the new products will go live in early November. Apologies again for the delay, and thank you for understanding. We can’t wait for you to experience Seven in more detail and depth than ever before."

Apologies for any inconvenience this cancellation might cause, and we genuinely appreciate your understanding.

Thanks again for your support, we’re excited to share this new release with you soon!

Sticking with the steel I've already ordered. Unless the digipack is way cheaper.

They're both ordinary to be frank.
Wasted opportunity. I'm amazed that Fincher has been touted as taking the lead on the designs.

Really?

FFS what a massive downgrade these turned out to be. Why do directors have to get involved... stick to what you're good at and leave the rest to the professionals for god's sake :sour:

As far as directors getting involved, whilst I agree they shouldn't, I'm not sure I wholly agree with the tone here.

When it comes to a good constructive message for directors who wish to be involved in packaging design, as a wise man once said...

On the bright side at least we're past the defending every decision the director makes because it's their film stage.

I'm still picking up the steelbook, I don't mind the design and it's an easy choice as I only have an amaray but it always feels bad when the mock up design they used to advertise it was better.

Yeah I’ve decided on the steel. Overall works better and it’s pretty much the same images. I’ll take that on steel over a digipak any day of the week

I don't care, I'd give half of my collection, which is enough to live off for a decade probably, to go back to 2003. :D

2003, maybe spend a few months there but I'd prefer 2005 if that's alright with you
I'd happily be that age again. Good year that one.
Meanwhile, 'professionals', in a godless world:

And every Mondo steel of the past 5 years...

Damn, didn't know there was a steel for Locke. Great film.

Come on. That steel isn't quite the pits. It's close though.

Didn't they release a set of these with similar styles? I remember seeing Dallas Buyers Club and it looked a lot like this in the art and font design.

Yeah, it's not that bad, I just couldn't think of the really worst off the top of my head to use for the joke.
I bought almost the whole lineup myself.

Yes, I don't know how many there were overall, but these are the ones I got in 2015 from this Italian Koch series:
