Ash, I think, because by and large you can just go to FS or order online and there are not all these little disasters BB has. So..less posts, LOL :hilarious:. I keed, I keed, lets hope everyone here, or in Canada does not need to jump through hoops (or trees) to get one. Afterall, it's a movie for crying out loud :boobies:!

Exactly, it is just a movie! I took the opportunity to chat with the store manager while picking up my online order and during that time, of the 12 steelbooks in the main display, 2 were left, both have small dings in them. The 8 they stocked on the new releases shelf were reduced to 1 which is in decent shape. And they had another 10 held separately for online orders. So this store had 30 copies of which 17 were sold in the opening 15 minutes. Wow! It goes to show how starved the US market is for quality steelbooks. I can imagine how it will be like when TDKR comes out :D

I just picked up 3 copies for me and buddies. Mine had about 10. One of them was so damaged it wasnt even funny looked like someone stomped on it :hilarious: Best Buy please take care of your steels! I have bought 4 copies of the avengers and all are screwed except one which still has paint chips, but its the best I can do I guess.

Really, damaged? Crazy! The ones at my local BB were all in great NEW condition. Only 2 on the metal display, most of them on the cardboard display at the bottom.

OK I am sitting in my work office with this steelbook's spine and that DVD Video logo staring at me face for a while now and it is starting to get on my nerves. :squint: I think I am going to print me a new spine label tonight...

This one worried me a little as I couldn't be at best buy right at 10am this morning. I normally swing up on a 10 minute break from work as the best buy is less than a mile from my work but today I was working at noon because I need to do a generator test tonight. And my wife is working a graveyard so I was at home watching the boys and then managed to sneak in a 4 mile run in the rain before doing some errands before work. Got there about 11:50 and there was still like 5-6 left as I am picking out my copy this guys comes up next to me and grabs like 20 of the regular bluray combos. No idea what was going on there unless he was a redbox worker as I hear redbox now stocks some movies by buying them at wal-mart or best buy when the studios won't give them for 3 weeks.

Saw him check out he had a handful of them but he didn't grab a single steelbook.

Now that is an interesting experience. I know Red Box is doing that to circumvent the blackout for them. But I am under the impression Best Buy never allows anyone to buy more than 5 copies of a single item/SKU. So how in the world did this guy walk up and buy 20 of the same title? I hope we are not exposing some kind of collusion between parties here....

To keep this on topic, has anyone seen this or any other Best Buy steelbook purchased in quantities of this scale? I sure have not.

Stopped in to grab my pre-order of this, checked the shelves after I picked it up, not one steelbook was left on the shelves. This is the way most steels go at my bb, even when the store releases one on like a Saturday, there are usually only 4 or 5 copies available. Me thinks an employee gobbles most of them up beforehand.

Yeah,I bet this varies store to store regarding qty limits. The rental window has made some resort to some cray cray things...

Back in like 2005 right after graduating from college I worked as an Assistant Manager for a Blockbuster. This was a franchise store and was horribly run, they go so behind on their bill with the distributors that they cut us off and would not ship us any more movies. So every Tuesday me and my boss would go to both Wal-marts and Best Buy and completely clear them out of stock, I mean we would wipe the shelves as we were buying for 3 Blockbusters. I am sure they hated us coming.

I couldn't think of any other reason someone would go after like 20 copies of this movie and he didn't even touch the steelbook copies instead right for the regular amray versions of the combo packs.

So glad I join biscuits GB for the FS steel. think it's looks awesome!! Will probably keep it sealed and open my UK one. Unless the UK version isn't the extended cut.
