Anybody notice how bad some of these SB's we're over at BB? The insert on some of them weren't even aligned to the top or even worse crumpled like it was forced in there. The scratches we're even evident but not sure if it was the plastic or the case. But overall it looks really nice so i ended up picking up 2 copies.

of the 4 copies my BB had when I went there at 1, one of them had a misaligned slip and one other had a loose disc. I bought the two other copies and can't see any paint chips or scratches.

Went to my BB this morning right at opening, There was at least a total of 30 copies there. 15 copies on two different displays. But there is damage issues with this release. Out of all of the 30 i was lucky enough to inspect. They had issues like paint chips on the bottom right edge, some had pin hole damage, damage on the spines. Some were even dented inward looking at it sideways from the spine. From the lot of 30, i was able to pick out mine from 8 decent copies. So from what i have read from some of the other post about damaged ones at their BB. It looks like this release of Snow White & The Huntsman has issues like the District 12 FS steelbook. And finding a clean mint copy will be challenging.

Is this version an extended version as well? The FS version is extended. Regular running time is stated as 128 mins, the FS version is listed as 132 mins extended.

This has both versions on it, extended and theatrical. I just watched the extended version - cool film :D

with the exception of one that had a box cutter mark and one whos glue was showing from the jcard they all looked good to me. I don't consider mis-aligned j-cards to be defects

Is it just me or there are tiny scratches around the tree on the front cover? Or is it the artwork? Can't really tell...either day, I'm really loving this steel book. I also enjoyed the film.

All I can say is they dropped the ball on this one bigtime. I am not impressed at all. In fact I am rather disapointed. I feel sorry for all the ebayers on this one. They will be left holding the bag.

I ordered 2 from best buy. I went to pick it up before work last night and went to the shelf and they still had one out there, so I grabbed that then went to the counter to pick up my order. Copy one had a big time scratch on the bottom that was plain as day, and copy 2 had a good ding in the front too. So I left with only 1. Kinda sad, but it's ok. At least I didn't have to settle for a damaged one.

all I see is waa waaa waa, I'm gonna call you people a waaaambulance.

Honestly for $20 regardless this is truely one of the nicer releases this year, clean front, clean back and interior artwork. For a country just getting into the steelbook market this is a step ahead of what we should be expecting. Yes the discs are a bit plain but the DVD on the spine really does not bother me at all. Really the only thing that could make this better was if the tree was embossed.

This x 100000.

A $20 Steelbook with full artwork, two discs, extended cut of the film, etc. is pretty awesome. I don't know what people were expecting, but BB is still just getting their feet wet in releasing exclusive Steels on a regular basis and this was a hell of an offering, especially for the price.

Anyway, the two BB near me had about 10 total yesterday morning. They placed them on the bottom row of a separate "NEW RELEASES" display from the other SWATH releases, so hopefully everyone who wanted one found them.

Ordered mine through BestBuy.com - here's hoping I won't get a damaged one. Otherwise I'd only be able to swap it in December (I'm abroad now), giving that it's still available by then.

I believe regardless of how disappointed people may be with this steelbook it's going to fly off the shelves fast. With the price point being similar to the amaray most buyers will pick this one up instead. Most of the Bestbuys in my area are already sold out.

You can lump me in the group of people who like this release. I can't speak for the movie as I haven't watched it yet, but it's actually a pretty solid steelbook release. As others mentioned, it's $20 (for now), has nice art, has inside art, and is clean overall. I could care less that the spine says DVD on it. If you think this one is not good as the European release, then get both and then you can have the best of both worlds!

I was really pleased with the price point on this. Normally a 2 disc bluray combo pack with a digital copy is going to run you $25-30 but to get it for $20 in a steelbook case is a steal of a deal. I really like the artwork too, sure if they had embossed the tree on the front it could be even cooler but its got nice artwork and an awesome price point.

This and Snow White to me are the best two Best Buy released steels this year so far (ok Snow White was a Viva but still). Much better than the Warner Brothers line that I did not like the matte finish on.

I think you meant to say "this and Cinderella" which case I would agree. I watched this last night and was quite impressed. Helmsworth is getting better and will be in more movies to come.

By the way, in case folks forgot, if you bought the Walking Dead Season Two Collector's Edition with the zombie head case from Best Buy, they gave a $10 gift card with that. I used that on my purchase of this steelbook which made this one an even sweeter deal :)

Sorry I got confused, Snow White was released years ago and the only Viva Disney Animation presently released was Cinderella?
