Really don't get all the hate for this movie. Thought it was well done...Definitely my favorite version of this classic tale.

Oh....and the steelbook looks stunning!

Oh, it's not really 'hate' towards this movie ;), I think, it's just (imho) that many didn't get what we expected. What I really disliked was the total lack of acting talent and the eternal one-face-expression on Stewart's part, I thought Charlize looked stunning but her performance was as if she's trying far too hard to be that bad stepmother (her yelling was really over the top, more suitable for theatre and someone sitting in the 34th row) - she never convinced me in this role. The nameless Huntsman also looked absolutely stunning, but the minute he started talking, I wanted to press mute. The only good thing about the movie for me was the visuals and I enjoyed the dwarves, nice cast. But the nice looking visuals are not enough for me to say the movie was great or even good.

Most movies I see today are well made in technical terms, but they are so appaling in terms of script-writing and often even in acting/directing. So, I don't hate the movie, I will buy it because it's fantasy (love that) and technically perfectly ok (even dark-ish, which I also love very much), but (for me) it's far from being something enjoyable on all cinematic levels. ;)

Oh and yes - the FS steelie is a stunner!! Definitely a must-buy!

Might end up being one of the best releases of 2012

All depends on the front. If it truly is embossed/debossed, then perhaps. Until I see actual pics though, my vote is for District 12 Hunger Games.

And anything that has Stewart's mug on it loses points IMO.

Its plain and simple a 41yr old Director (married & with children) was able to woo a 22 yr old Pop Culture Female Icon who is in a relationship to a Guy who is sought after by many Tweeners.

Long story short - The Steelbook will be a shocker! (its an outcome based from a scandalous relationship of yr 2012)

that vid made me  girl needs to chill out, their relationship and happiness has nothing to do with her.

This steel looks good, missed the movie in the theater but my wife really wanted to see it. Maybe surprise her with this one.

Hahahahahahahahahaha :hilarious:

On topic, this steelbook looks awesome. Much better than the UK one based on the mock-up, tough choice for me now.

Shocker? Depends how the steelbook looks in person. The embossed tree front could look epic or not. Scandalous relationship? :D The girl was on the same set as Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron and she hooks up with the director.:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

I agree but in my honest opinion Charlize had to completely over act to even begin to compensate for the complete lack of acting ability of everyone else.

How did a film with so high a budget manage to get a script that was so bad and actors who from their lack of talent in this film couldn't even do a cornflakes advert?

This is one of the best looking steelbooks in a long time but, the film is so badly done.

I've got the UK collectors edition thanks to a member here who spotted a mis-price on it but am still unsure about it.
