We've seen the threads of "What movie would you like to see get steelbook treatment" at many forums.

Here's something a bit different.

"What movie were you surprised to see NOT get steelbook treatment."

Everything is getting it now, and many more catalog movies are coming ... but how about movies on blu-ray already that baffle you no retailer/etailer hasnt taken the gamble on pushing into steelbook.

I'll start with a few ...

HEAT-released as Steelbook in the meantime
Braveheart-released as a Steelbook in the meantime
Carlitos Way-released as Steelbook in the meantime

I would have to say I was shocked when no steel book for James Bond: Quantam of Solace turned up. Still am shocked on that one unless Im mistaken....

There is the PS3 steelbook for it.

Ive seen people double it as a bluray steel but you know I was expecting an actual bluray steel book for the movie. The PS3 steel is actually nice too.

Im not so much disappointed as I am shocked that a Bond movie didn't get a release since Casino Royale before it did thats all.

The Abyss, Last of the Mohicans, Die Hard 1 - 4, Armageddon, Swordfish, The Boondock Saints I + II, Bronson, Face Off, Dog Soldiers, National Treasure 1+2 just for starters.

All die hards, all the boondock saints, and dog soldiers have steels

I think that never happened because of the studio/financial issues at the time. Remember all the catalog bond films on steel and amaray came to a screeching halt when the studio went bankrupt. And that's today's history lesson kids :hilarious:

I'm aware one or two are on steelbook, but in my view dont do it justice :p (eg Black Hawk Down)

There is a Forest Gump I think. Reservoir dogs exists (i'm bidding on it now) Blade is out, definatly agree with most of your selection. Although some like monty python don't need steels. Robocop was a dissapointing moive but could be a batshit insane steel. Oh just spotted trainspotting, that's out as well..
