About 5 seconds into the trailer I realised this is a f**king remake! The Dutch film literally came out a year or 2 ago!!! Which was also in English!! This looks literally scene for scene too. Mental.

The end of the original is absolutely harrowing

Actually, be careful watching that trailer. It gives it all away. Just go watch the original instead

Watched Strange Darling last night (which was incredible) and straight after this popped up so I thought f**k it I’ll give it a go.

Tbh and although it’s a remake we didn’t need, it’s not too bad, it’s made pretty well and McAvoy is really f**king good (the whole cast are tbh). It’s pretty much scene for scene the same but the ending is completely different. Obviously the original ending is just absolutely depressing and savage whereas they bottle it with this, or just didn’t want an exact replica I don’t know but it was okay in the end. In a weird way happy they made their own ending but it’s still not as good as the original

Yep. That original has one of the most, if not THE most downbeat endings in existence. It'd certainly crack a top 5 if anyone where to care constructing such a list. Awesome film.
I'd heard this remake went in a different direction around the last quarter. Wondered whether to bother.

Lots of good films surfacing this week.

I'm gonna check out Strange Darling. Universal critical acclaim, but then oddly, everyone I know who's seen it thought it was just okay and a tad over hyped.

We shall see.

There’s a few. The Mist too. There’s another I seen recently but forgot what it is.
This is worth it for McAvoy tho. He plays it well even though you know what and who he is

Ah man Strange Darling was awesome. A unique and original take on a certain thing

Hahaha, yeah, The Mist was like..."okay, I'd do the same in your shoes...but then, oops, that was unfortunate timing. Damn, not sure how I'm going to go on now."

Very tense thriller - I had no idea what it's about going in, and haven't watched the original 2022 film, but liked this remake a lot. Keeps you on the edge to the end!

Well now I'll have to see that one as well. I was looking at a couple of Blu-ray editions once, wanted to buy it 'blind', and should've!
