Stan Lee’s first Indian superhero has been delighting comic book readers ever since he first hit shelves back in 2011, and now Chakra the Invincible is getting ready to make his live-action debut on the silver screen.
The two creative super teams behind the iconic young hero, Lee’s POW! Entertainment and Graphic India, have partnered with Phantom Films to bring the character from the page to screen.
With the recent addition of director Vikramaditya Motwane to the film, Chakra is one step closer to landing in theaters.
In a recent statement the Generalissimo himself, Stan the Man, said that he is looking forward to bringing his newest creation to the big screen.
“I’m a fan of Bollywood films and am really excited about launching Chakra the Invincible as my first Bollywood superhero movie. Vikramaditya is an amazingly talented filmmaker who I have no doubt can make the Chakra film a massive hit in India and around the world. I only hope he remembers to include my cameo!”

Motwane added that he is looking forward to helming a film based on one of the characters created by the same mind that brought the world Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and dozens of other iconic heroes.
“It’s an honor and an absolute delight to be making a film based on a Stan Lee character. And no, we won’t forget Stan’s cameo.”

Chakra the Invincible centers around the adventures of Raju Rai, a teenager and tech-genius living in Mumbai. After developing and technologically advanced suit with the ability to activate the mystical chakras of the body and tap into the secrets of human potential, Raju decides to use his newfound powers for the betterment of his fellow man by becoming a superhero.
While there is no word yet on when fans can expect to see Chakra in theaters, three new Chakra the Invincibleanimated TV movies are set for release on Cartoon Network India later on this year.
