• Strange New Worlds: Visualizing the Fantastic dives into the creation of spaceships, transporters, and the classic Star Trek visuals. The in-depth feature combines newly found original visual effects elements photography along with interviews with effects masters and Star Trek veterans such as Industrial Light & Magic founding member Richard Edlund, Doug Drexler, Dan Curry and Gary Hutzel.

The extras are the main event here, not the episodes, which you probably have already. You're buying it for the previously unreleased footage from the set - unused scenes, outtakes etc. I think there was some contractual reason why these had to be classified as extras but they're the raison d'etre for this set. It's good that they've added something to the episodes as well by adding music only tracks and commentaries, but really the cutting-room-floor stuff is the main thing.

I still think we need clarification on what the extras are. Are we getting serious extra footage or is it just a few minutes with serious padding. The team behind the release are being very very evasive about what we are getting.

Bit of a blast from the past, but I picked this up and noticed we don't have any pictures. It's spot glossed ( the title, starfleet badge, 'never before seen' banner, the background behind the vault door, and the centre strip on the back), and debossed (the background and the 4 things around the edge of the door)
