Wouldn't it be interesting if the standalone movies were of the dark side...

Star Wars Origins: The Emperor
Star Wars Origins: Darth Maul

You may even still be able to get a story with Obi Wan and Anakin, those actors are still young enough to play those roles i'd imagine...

How about Star Wars Origins: Darth Vader?

John Williams Confirmed to Score STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. - collider.com

Press Release:
John Williams, the legendary composer who crafted the iconic, sweeping music of all six films in the Star Wars saga, is returning to score Star Wars: Episode VII, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy announced today at Star WarsCelebration Europe. Williams’ grand orchestral compositions for Star Wars are among the most beloved and recognizable in movie history, from the classic “Main Title” theme introduced in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope to the ominous “Imperial March” from Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Backto the stirring “Duel of the Fates” from the prequel trilogy.

Williams, whose career spans over six decades, has won five Academy Awards and has scored some of the most popular and critically acclaimed films of all time, including Jaws, the Indiana Jones series, E.T. The Extra Terrestrial,Lincoln, and countless others.

The composer joins a growing list of all-star creators including director J.J. Abrams, screenwriter Michael Arndt, and consultants Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg, who are shaping Star Wars: Episode VII, currently set for a 2015 release.

I personally think JJ Abrams should drop out of making star wars 7 and carry on with star trek.... Into the darkness has left alot of amazed fans waiting for more including me!

Read the press release yesterday. Best news about Ep VII so far. Today I read that they will use less CGI & more props & visual effects. Looks like its panning out to be promising. Now if they can confirm that Efron WONT be in it, it might just be the best news ever.

Star Wars: Episode VII gets production start date

episode-vii-gold.jpg

On the heels of news that STAR WARS: EPISODE VII may not be hitting theaters until Christmas 2015 comes the story that production will be starting very early in 2014. To this point we knew the latest chapter in the George Lucas saga would have to start filming next year, but if Latino Review's source is to be believed, that date will in fact be January 21, 2014.

Why is this important? Well, if production begins in January, that means that J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm have just four months to have the principal cast in place to begin shooting in the U.K. at the start of the year. That is good news for us because we should begin hearing who will star in the new trilogy sooner rather than later. This would also mean there is a good chance that there could be footage or a teaser for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII in time for next year's Comic Con or even attached to THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON on May 1st.

Before we get too ahead of ourselves, this could also mean a Summer 2015 release is not out of reach for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. It is still incredibly unlikely that Disney would pit their two biggest franchises against each other, a production starting in January would have plenty of time for post-production to hit the following Summer.

Either way it goes, STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is getting closer and closer

How about a Bounty Hunter film, with all the regulars from The Empire Strikes Back, but in the style of The Hangover or American Pie?

What could it be called? "Dude, where's my bounty" or 'Galaxy Trip'.

Star Wars: Episode VII casting news coming soon

episode-7-hurd-pettyfer.jpg

The only casting news that could possibly compete with the backlash over Ben Affleck becoming Batman would be the casting for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. If J.J. Abrams and the Lucasfilm gang don't cast well, the Internet will create a rage tsunami of such force that it will be felt like the shockwave from when the Death Star destroyed Alderaan.
Latino Review has been posting several scoops about STAR WARS: EPISODE VII ranging from the return of Emperor Palpatine to the potential Christmas 2015 release date and are claiming we are on the verge of major casting news to come officially from the studio. While we wait for that, they also shared two actors who may have auditioned for roles in upcoming chapter of the STAR WARS saga.
For the role of Han Solo and Leia's daughter, PETER PAN actress Rachel Hurd-Wood has possibly read for the part. The 23-year-old Brit is the first to audition but may not be the last. Her biggest roles since PETER PAN have been in Tom Tywker's PERFUME: THE STORY OF A MURDERER, AN AMERICAN HAUNTING, and SOLOMON KANE. While it may not reflect in her filmography, I recall her fondly in PETER PAN as a strong Wendy and she would do well as the offspring of Han and Leia.
The other rumored audition is MAGIC MIKE alum Alex Pettyfer. Which role Pettyfer is going for is unknown to the source but Latino Review does theorize that it could be for the son of Luke Skywalker, the part earmarked for Ryan Gosling. Pettyfer is more of a pretty face than a talented actor. I wouldn't be opposed to him being in the film, but I am sure there are better candidates out there.
Whichever the case may be, if all is to be believed, we should know a lot more officially very soon. Production is still rumored to begin in January 2014 with the release still on track for sometime in 2015.

IMO, they cannot do worst than:

Damn I hated him...
Been waiting forever to see the Dark Side take over Anakin... not to see a tall crying baby!

Can't wait!!

I know what you mean, and I have huge faith in J.J. Abrams. I predict that when the movie does hit theatres, and fans hear the familiar John Williams' Star Wars theme music, the place(s) will go ballistic, with rapturous applause!

Really can't wait! :scat::LOL:

Breaking Bad Star Jesse Plemons in Talks for Lead Role in Star Wars: Episode VII!

Plemons-Saber-550x308.jpg

http://www.slashfilm.com/jesse-plemons-eyed-for-leading-role-in-star-wars-episode-vii/

After playing eye-catching roles in Friday Night Lights and Breaking Bad, you might have had a feeling that Jesse Plemons was ready to bust out in a big way. Now it seems that breakout potential could take him to a galaxy far, far away.

The Wrap reports the actor is being eyed for one of the major leads in J.J. Abrams‘ highly anticipated Star Wars Episode VII. Plemons has not yet been cast but is in what the source believes to be the final stages of the casting process. He’s considered by insiders to be a leading contender.

According to The Wrap, “Plemons has already taped an audition that was well-received by those involved in the casting process, and he’ll be flying in to Los Angeles from Austin, Texas for a second audition that will bring him face-to-face with Abrams.”

There’s no word on exactly who Plemons would play but he certainly resembles Mark Hamill, suggesting he could be a young Skywalker. Rumor has it the film will center on three young leads, two boys and a girl, and maybe Plemons will be one of those.

Ever since the early days of Friday Night Lights there was always been something magnetic about Jesse Plemons. He has a quiet confidence about him, as well as a certain vulnerability that makes him incredibly relatable. But, as he proved in the final few seasons of Breaking Bad, he also can be incredibly menacing. Then he can wrap all that up in a complicated package. He’s a great actor and, if Abrams goes this way, would make a worthy addition to the franchise. (And this would continue Bad Robot’s minor trend of looking to Friday Night Lights for casting, as seen before with Kyle Chandler going to Super 8 and Minka Kelly in Almost Human. FNL‘s Michael B. Jordan has also been rumored for Episode VII.)

Even if Plemons is not cast in the film, the fact insiders are telling The Wrap he’s close to getting the role means Abrams, Lucasfilm and Disney are close to casting the part, which means we should have official information in the coming weeks.

What do you think about the potential of a Todd/Landry Skywalker?

Star Wars Episode VII is set for release December 18, 2015.

*RUMOR* 12 Years a Slave Star Lupita Nyong'o Eyed for Star Wars: Episode VII!

We can report that there’s a recent Oscar winner who has been reading for a part for over the past month and she’s extremely close to signing onto the movie: 12 Years A Slave‘s Lupita Nyong’o.

The part Nyong’o has been reading for a is a major female role and doesn’t seem to be tied into the family lines from Episodes 4-6.

Calls were made to Lupita’s reps and they responded, “We’re not allowed to talk about that.”

From what I heard, Lupita might be going up for a a sith!

Star Wars: Episode VII will begin production late second quarter or early third quarter this year.

I just hate those casting rumors... that's why I don't post any... only when something is ANNOUNCED or CONFIRMED since almost EVERY SINGLE ACTOR in Hollywood would like to be involved in such a big classic...
