I'm really bummed too. But once I heard the reports of how long she wasn't breathing for I knew her chances were very slim. I read another one yesterday basically saying she was on life support machines, which is what I figured all along. I'm sure more details will come out in the coming weeks.

I'd love to know which sets I had when I was a kid, I can't really remember. If I have any lego sets left they were just thrown into a box and I'm sure most of them are shattered into a giant pile of bricks.

I'll believe SS has the rights to Iron Studios SW stuff when I see it. I have a feeling he was just trying to create hype for the statue, but who knows. If they sell it you should get it though. You need to have a Vader!

Yeah I knew it wasn't good either, but was hoping for a miracle. Stupid drugs, sounds like that's what got George Michael too. They said she was done filming episode VIII, but was slated to appear in episode IX. I wonder what the plan is now.

I'm totally going to derail this thread again, but this was the Lego set I really wanted when I was younger but never got:

I loved the soldiers that were part of the Pirate Lego theme. There was also a ship I wanted called the Caribbean Clipper.

You've twisted my arm, guess I have to buy it now. Ha ha. I'll keep checking tomorrow to see if it goes up. I really need to see some more pictures of it from different angles before deciding.

Ha, yeah those Simpsons houses are expensive! If I have the money when my brother's birthday rolls around this year I might try to get him the Kwik-E-Mart.

I don't think it's that. I think I just grew up fearing my dad as a kid and I've never been able to shake that. Pretty sad when you're scared of one of your parents most of your life. So stupid.

I remember those 1:4 scale statues DC did. I nearly bought the Green Lantern at one point. They started doing replicas, but stopped after releasing only a few things. That was disappointing. There are tons of options out there for Captain America shields, I can't believe nobody has made a Wonder Woman shield yet!

I'm trying to decide if I want to order it or not. I don't think I can afford the one XM will put out and it is the best Vader statue available at the moment (in my opinion). I'm not sure, are you?

At least you get out of the office, I seriously just stare at my computer screen all day! Which I wouldn't mind if I were doing something more interesting I guess.



Lucky man getting to work when you want! If I had that choice I would never work though, ha ha.

I just can't see a company doing Jar-Jar. I feel like they're all scared to take that chance.

I usually am okay with a delay of a couple to a few months, but once the delay gets to be a year long or more that is beyond ridiculous!



Some of those Lego sets are super expensive! And I don't remember ever getting anything as complex as those when I was little.

It is sad when one of your parents makes you fear them your whole life. Its the complete opposite of what parents are supposed to be!

DC Collectibles used to be so amazing, and had such great plans. It was so cool to have a comic company making its own collectibles. There is still something special I feel when I get one of their pieces, just wish the quality was a bit better. I would think since its coming from the people that made the characters they'd be sure to make their stuff the best out there, but they decided instead to cut corners. I really loved their 1:4 scale stuff as well as some of their replicas. They still make a few replicas but its usually smaller stuff like badges and rings etc.

I'm going to pass on Vader. I'm not going to buy anymore SW characters that I already have a statue of, and I wouldn't have anywhere to fit that super wide Vader anyways. He'll be way too wide for a besta cube.

I can't really see a company taking a risk on Jar Jar either. The thing would end up having an ES of like 250 and the 100 people out there that are Jar Jar super fans would order immediately (I'd be one of them ), and then they'd probably be stuck with another 150 of them that they'd have to discount like 75% off to move them.

I say there at least 1000 people that would love a JJB statue.

Oh I bet 250 Jar-Jar's would sell like crazy. Tons of people would be buying it solely for the low ES. Sideshow would probably set the ES at 2000 and they'd be having to put hefty discounts on him to move it.

I've noticed Lego sets are getting more expensive and you're getting less for what you pay. Like they've remade some of the early Star Wars sets and they are smaller than the originals. I would still like to go back one day and buy the sets I wanted as a kid, but never got.

I don't have a Vader so I may pull the trigger, still can't decide! It probably won't even go up for sale on Sideshow's website.

I know! My wife said that the chance of someone surviving an incident like that is less than 25%. I was hoping the odds were in her favorite.

At least the base on Iron Studios Vader is so much better than both of SS's Vader PFs. The angles I've seen so far look so cool. Can't wait to see more!

I was definitely hoping for a miracle too. I'm sure going to cherish watching her SW scenes even more now, and I can't wait to see what she shot for VIII. I think if they go forward with her in IX I think they should go with CGI. Putting anyone else in the role now just won't feel right. I have a feeling they'll write her out of IX entirely or maybe change VIII so she'll be written out of SW entirely after that point.

I don't doubt it. Those types of forums are full of haters. That said, if he was made and had a low ES, those same haters would be all over it.

They said she was supposed to be in 9. All they need to do to have her in 9 is Paul Walker the hell out of that. Keep her alive in the movies.

My facebook feed was just flooded with Carrie Fisher pictures, made me sad. She will be missed. I heard she has a bigger part in episode VIII and was set to appear in episode IX. Maybe they should start episode IX with her funeral.

A Boushh disguise would be excellent! You would have to display her, Boba, and the Carbonite Han all together.

So here are final pictures of the Iron Studios Vader. Looks like it has a bunch of switch out hands, but it's going to cost close to $1K USD. Not sure it's worth it, I may wait to see the XM piece at that price.

I'd love a Boushh Leia too! That was always one of my favorite designs when I was a kid. I just don't love either of the Leias SS has released enough to buy one. The first one has a great mixed media outfit but I just don't love the face sculpt and I really don't like how they did the eyes. The Slave one is a bit better (and what guy doesn't love that outfit ) but I didn't love the face sculpt again. And that one goes for a fortune, especially the EX. I'm sure the value on that one will really skyrocket now. So I'm just going to hold out on Leia until they do a new one.

If she is in IX I hope they do a CG version. I can never accept anyone else playing her now.

I wouldn't be surprised if WW ends up with a leg up pose. Have you seen the Affleck Batman PF? The pose on that thing is hilariously terrible. I'm starting to rethink statue collecting. I love how simple all of my old SW PFs are posed, but some of the new ones look kind of ridiculous. And its obviously not just SW. I'm thinking.. maybe I should move into figures... . I can't believe I just said that lol.

That Batman isn't terrible, but it's definitely not great. I think the costume itself doesn't do him any favors. Sideshow's poses these days are limited to Captain Morgan or incredibly awkward. XM seems to make it look effortless. They've screwed up on a few like Elektra and Hulk, but for the most part all of their statues are great.

No that base on the Sideshow Vader isn't the way to go either. I think XM's Vader will be the ultimate centerpiece for a Star Wars collection. I really want to know what the hold up is with their reveals...especially since they took preorders for Vader at the convention they did!

Its like SS goes against whats on screen or on the page just to put their own artistic interpretation on the piece, especially in the pose and the base. I've watched ROTJ quite a lot in my life but I don't ever remember Vader standing on top of some three foot tall trapezoid looking thing while staring up in the air with his head turned like a confused puppy lol.

When is XM Boba supposed to ship? I haven't been following it. Maybe they'll release the pics of some of their other stuff once that ships out.

I was planning on ordering the Dark Phoenix PF to go with my Wolverine but production pics came out and they changed her outfit to a glossy paintjob instead of the matte which I think looks terrible, and they've completely removed all shading in her flesh tone. I'm just getting sick and tired of SS doing this to all of their faces. I'm not even going to bother with Rey or Jyn as I know the protos will look incredible, but then when the production piece comes out the flesh tone will look so dull just like all of their human faces. I'm really starting to think about calling it quits on statues and moving to HTs, or at least stick to statues that wear helmets or masks.

Its like SS goes against whats on screen or on the page just to put their own artistic interpretation on the piece, especially in the pose and the base. I've watched ROTJ quite a lot in my life but I don't ever remember Vader standing on top of some three foot tall trapezoid looking thing while staring up in the air with his head turned like a confused puppy lol.

When is XM Boba supposed to ship? I haven't been following it. Maybe they'll release the pics of some of their other stuff once that ships out.

I was planning on ordering the Dark Phoenix PF to go with my Wolverine but production pics came out and they changed her outfit to a glossy paintjob instead of the matte which I think looks terrible, and they've completely removed all shading in her flesh tone. I'm just getting sick and tired of SS doing this to all of their faces. I'm not even going to bother with Rey or Jyn as I know the protos will look incredible, but then when the production piece comes out the flesh tone will look so dull just like all of their human faces. I'm really starting to think about calling it quits on statues and moving to HTs, or at least stick to statues that wear helmets or masks.

I just looked up pictures of Phoenix, the red they used almost makes her look like a plastic toy. Maybe it's not as bad in person, but that's disappointing. I tried switching to 1/6 then got the Boba PF and realized the smaller scale wasn't for me. Plus Hot Toys turned me off when they screwed up Rey and Finn's heights.

I don't think your problem is scale, I think you just need to shop from other companies. I'm hoping IS or XM can get the likeness down. Sideshow has had a few decent PF sculpts, but you're right it's definitely better to wait on Jyn and Rey.

Now I'm remembering I didn't stick with HTs because of how small they are, thanks for reminding me. Disaster averted . Maybe I should try other companies. I'm just really not into spending $1K+ on each quarter scale statue though. I already feel that I should be receiving that quality from SS for $500. I mean if I told one of my normal friends out there how much I spend on these things their head would spin. And then if I told them at that price I'm spending I'm still not receiving the quality product that I should be so I've decided to spend twice the price to get it they'd literally slap me in the face LOL. I'm just going to sit back, relax and think about what I want to do. I've got 3 more PFs coming in the meantime. Maybe by the time I get them all I'll be ready to hand up collecting.

There is no sign of the Iron Studios Vader, and Alex said she's still isn't aware if SS will sell any of their SW stuff. I'm wondering if that guy was full of it and was just making up stuff to create a buzz for the statue.

After a Kingpin and Bullseye I will be done with Marvel statues. Although if someone ever made Gladiator or Stilt Man I would be tempted, I imagine the latter would be like 60 inches tall, ha ha.

Ha! I agree. Although every girl I've dated has easily been as much of a money pit as this hobby . I've got Kylo, Jango and Pfeiffer Catwoman coming. I rarely collect comic statues anymore lol. There have been no production pics of Kylo yet and I thought he was going to ship next month, so I'm thinking there is going to be delay. Big surprise LOL.

I just can't justify the $1K on a quarter scale piece. I've loved a lot of what I've seen from XM but I wouldn't spend a thousand on any of them, but thats just me, I have to set a limit. I really think $700 would be my absolute top dollar for quarter scale and it would have to be a super awesome character. And since SS is getting near there my days of collecting quarter scale might be coming to an end. I may consider spending a grand or more on a collectible thats bigger than quarter scale, so I may eventually bump up to Prime 1's 1:3 if I still feel the desire to collect. Or like I said before I might just hang it up entirely, and just appreciate what I have.

Are you getting the XM Kingpin? And are they making a Bullseye?

People were doing a price conversion yesterday and it looks like the Iron Studios Vader would be just under a grand. I didn't think he'd be that high, unless SS carries him with a discount. Still no sign of him though.
