Steelbook Protection Product

Hi guys,

Just an advance notice that I am developing a new product designed specifically with protection of steelbooks in mind.

It will be a convenient and smart card sleeve which will form a jacket around the steelbook and leave the spine on view for identification.

I am expecting these to be available within the next month or so and they will be for sale in various bulk quantities (obviously I'm not looking to make a massive profit on these). I will post videos/pictures etc nearer the time. Will be great to see these keeping our collections safe and scratch-free :D

To the mods, if this is seen as advertising and unacceptable please let me know and I shall delete it, though I feel these will be of use to the members here! :)

Once I get these I'd be more than happy to send them worldwide.

It's fine to discuss your invention, just don't link to any store listings or ebay.

If you'd like to sell these eventually on here, you'll need to PM me and we can discuss the details further.

And thanks for posting, this is an interesting idea. :)

These look nice and may be what Wreck received, I'd like to try them, rather than the plastic bags.

Just for your information, work on these should begin this week and they will be available within the next couple of weeks. Card is now an even higher quality than I thought it would be. Just working on them being as tight around the steelbook as possible for maximum protection :D Thanks for all your support guys.

I'm sorry to be critical, but a hybrid of these 2, plastic with one side open, would be perfect. As it stands

1. Cardoard, the big one, you can't see the steel, just the spine
2. Existing plastic, you still get scuff / shelf marks on the bottom

I know someone that created large PET, seamless, cases for videogame boxes, but they ran at 20 EUR ea (30x20x8cm)

May i ask how do you get scuff marks on the top and bottom using the plastic ones i sell in my GB? The steelbook fits in them and there is enough room on top and on the bottom that the steelbook itself does not touch the shelf...

Im glad you are somewhat critical it helps better to discuss the possiblilites of getting smething better...if needed...

Take care
John

Maybe Im missing something with the plastic ones but if they slide on top of the steel and leave the bottom opened why not just put it on upside down leaving to top opened instead???
