Steelbook Wishlist for 2019

Having seen the rather underwhelming release schedule for next year from a couple of companies I thought I'd post some suggestions for great movies that either haven't had steelbooks at all yet, or have only got second rate ones. Anyone else care to add?

My biggest want for 2919 is

NO MORE F***KING POP ART!!!

There's nothing more disappointing than waiting years for a film to get steelbook treatment and they ruin it with bloody pop art.

Haha, I'm in complete agreement. Also, as I mentioned before lazy steelbook waves where they just choose a random object from the movie and slap it on the front (The Shining = Axe, The Matrix = Bullet, Inception = Spinny thing, A Clockwork Orange = Glass of milk)... I mean WTF?!

Basically next year I'd like steelbook designers to do their f***king job properly...

Always annoyed me that LOTR The Two Towers and Return of the King were never released to go with the jumbo Hobbit trilogy and The Fellowship of the Ring

Before I offer up my dream team wish list for next year, let me quality my thoughts by saying my hope would be to see a treatment deserving of these films by either Manta, Blu Fans, EverythingBlu, etc. with the works. That said, I'd be happy with just a decent steel of any of these that isn't pop art, which I loathe.

To no surprise I start with a movie that has sadly only received one run in Steel form. An outrage considering the greatness of this film.

Still wanting a stunning 3D steelbook for Titanic(I do have the lenti magent German one) but with the steelbook being embossed/debossed in the ship's riviets style. Just a nice simple, minimal, artwork for one of my fave movies ever.

so, my list;

- Titanic
- A Scanner Darkly(so underrated and often forgotten, gorgeous movie)
- Chasing Amy
- Gremlins 2(or a dual pack like Zavvi did for Kill Bill would be fine - just want a UK blu for he second movie)
- mother! (an any other missing Aronofsky movies that have yet to be touched by steel)


lastly, all the other Disney Classics that have not had a steelbook release(Fantasia 2000, Black Cauldron, Oliver and Company...etc)

Studio Ghibli - All the steelbooks in a new line which uses better colourful artwork. Not just ones filled with mostly a grey/silver background.
