UK release date is TBC due to manufacturing issues of the UK and EU release made in Europe.

Ignore release date listed as December 31 and also ignore amazon UK estimated January 2025 delivery date.

December 31 that is just a standard placeholder date that Amazon UK and Zavvi often use when they don't have the actual date.

Retailers Amazon UK/Zavvi/HMV will update listings with actual release date when Sony UK distributor Elevation Sales provide details.

UK and EU releases of the SteelBook is still happening Sony just had to change the release date due scanavo having to make new SteelBooks but that date is not known yet.

Any word on what the issue was exactly?

All I know is what was already mentioned by the distributor some quality control failures.

As to exactly what was the quality control issues I don't know.

It has so far affected both Sony releases of Taxi Driver and Captain Phillips SteelBook releases been delayed.

Because of the duplicate scene error I'm guessing
Europe release been delayed was due to SteelBooks stock been damaged affected both Sony Taxi Driver and Captain Phillips UK/EU SteelBook releases.

It’s unknown at the moment if Sony UK/EU discs of Taxi Driver will have duplicate scene error fixed.

It’s only been confirmed so far the USA/Canada release has that error fixed.

The USA/Canada release was only delayed by 1 week and was not due to the issue of damaged SteelBooks that affected the Europe release.

Some customers based Canada already got delivery of the Canada SteelBook release and confirmed the duplicate scene error was fixed on both UHD and Blu-ray Discs.

Has that been confirmed though?

I'm still thinking the delay for Taxi Driver specifically across Europe is due to the same reason as the US release ie the duplicate scene error

Yes. A german retailer confirmed it was the reason for their delay, then the rest of Europe's scheduled release dates changed right after. That's about as confirmed as you'll get.

Ah fair enough. Would surely have to assume the discs are corrected too then
