I remember when this was announced, when FAC's were about half the price. Ah the good old days.

I agree with you. Beautiful they were, yet simple with a reasonable price to match.

However, the simplicity of the early day editions have evolved (not just for FAC, but other Retailers as well)
The Premium Editions we now have, are not what they used to be.
We do get Fuller Packages, more complex, which does affect the retail Price.
Not taking into consideration for me as an example, the weakness of my currency which does affect how much more expensive everything is.

I don't think they adjust it to specific countries, they might, but I doubt it. They just don't charge for it and then you pay whatever the non-EU country's VAT is... that's what customs is for.
Tried finding you the link but I can't recall where I read that. Maybe howarmat knows.

Right they remove it for countries outside of EU just like amazon. But for the GB we all have to pay it.

Are you referring to the U.S. import limit? As far as I know residents of the U.S. can import most items with a value up to $800 with being charged customs fees.

Considering this is T2 and a new WEA highly anticipated release in FAC collection, those stats are shocking but I'm not surprised given the prices.

Im struggling to decide if I go for the Maniacs box or the E2 lenti. I love the art of the collectable boxes, and the brain chip is cool, but I don't care about the awful looking tee and the silly mug. I have the Novamedia steelbook which I think looks way better than the E1 in this (heck, I even think the Kimchi steelbook which I also have, looks better than this E1) so I'm not too fussed about the E1..... so essentially typing this out it's cleared things in my head.... do I want to pay an extra 2700CZK.... for some boxes..... ..... erm, NO!

I’m still on the fence for the Maniacs box, only because it’s T2 and the box kicks ass. But it’s a struggle to actually push the button because of the price. I like the Nova FS better overall anyway but this is a super nice boxset of one of my all-time favourites, nonetheless. It comes down to principle but then again I’m often weak. It also complicates the process that I’m stilled pissed about falling for FA’s Deadpool sh** and hardly want to be their b**** twice in a row.

I wasn't buying steelbooks when this was originally announced so I didn't have to wait as long as some people for this to come around.
When it was revealed that this was finally going to happen was the first time I became aware of it. I thought "awesome!"
I buy very few premium editions but I was excited about this one as was everybody else.

Besides liking a movie and liking a steelbook there is another factor which plays into whether I may buy a premium edition and that is how much it is sought after. I admit I'm influenced by how much other people want something. The whole "afraid of missing out on something" factor.

Terminator 2 is an elite title. I'm just going to jump to the end here. Basically for me, due to the fact that a lot of people are on the fence or have decided not to go for this after all, a release that was a sure thing for everyone until the prices were announced, has caused this release to lose its luster. That "something shiny, something new" appeal is now gone. Now that this isn't a must have for everybody I no longer feel like I would be missing out on owning something elite.

I wanted the E1 steelbook but with gloss. I like the slip a lot but I like the E2 DL even more. I would like to have both slips but I don't like the E2 steelbook. I don't care about 4K or 3D so that's not a factor. I don't want just the steelbook in a 1/4 slip since I already have the Novamedia 1/4 slip. I don't want to buy more than I want to get what I want. I don't want to buy less of what I want because that would be disappointing.

I didn't think it would be possible but basically I've lost interest in this release and I'm not going to miss it.
In the end, for me, I think this sums it up best.

I had promised my wallet I would not purchase a T2 but my spine cracked just enough for me to purchase the E2, after all. Just before my wallet and I went on non-speaking terms, it told me I am a f*#king "I'll be back" guy because despite my promises to the contrary I always come back for another purchase soon after.
