Ah, of course it goes live while I'm sleeping. Woke up in time to put an order in, but by the time I signed up to the site, it was sold out and removed from my cart.

Don't know about kimchi to be honest. But some companies can be difficult to deal with, when an item goes missing. Without tracking, you've no real proof it was actually lost.

I love KimchiDVD, but whenever i order from Korea, or any other Asian retailer, i opt for EMS shipping. The releases are expensive, and to "compensate" for the higher EMS shipping costs, i always end up getting 2-6 release at once.

I have never had an issue with them, and will vouch for their service. Tony is awesome.

Are you in the US?

I think without tracked shipping the risk is lower my order will get stuck with customs. So I leave it and hope it will arrive save here:D

Same in the UK. Withe regular airmail only a random selection of parcels are checked by customs, whereas all EMS parcels are submitted to customs for swifter clearance. Unfortunately EVERY Kimchidvd package I've received recently has been retained by UK customs ("missing invoice"/"inappropriate invoice"/"other") so EMS for me is usually a week to ten days anyway. My last Kimchidvd shipment was held for 36 days by customs, who opened the package for inspection and pretty much pulled the steels to pieces.

So for me, T2 will either have to be an untracked shipment and potential loss, or yet another customs nightmare. Not a great choice. :(

Very bad news, I thought kimchi packages would pass customs smoothly because he writes whatever price you want on the package..
And you tell me he writes sometimes no invoice at all?
Can anyone else confirm this?

I've had no problems from yes-asia or kimchi regarding customs in the uk regarding normal or ems postage .. only diff is the time scales on delivery .. ems normally within 3 to 5 days and normal postage around the 14to 16 days :) ... keeping my fingers and toes crossed for this one :)

hope this helps

In Spain is the same nightmare.
I always order by small packets (air mail).
If I order shipment by ems I know I will have delay (customs clearance) and customs charge.
I prefer lose it rather than pay 60 euros (or even more) for one steelbook. (retail + vat 21% + 23 euros for customs clearance process).

I sure am. Why'd you ask? :)

I took regular shipping on this then today I emailed tony and asked him to send me a invoice for ems shipping to Canada

Should I have not of done this will I have troulble with Canada customs

I was really concerned about this getting lost. So went for EMS. I'm in the UK, I'll report back my experiences.

I'm hoping, that will be along the lines of fast delivery and no customs charges. Customs won't be an issue if Tony does include an invoice to the same value as we ask for on the declaration label.

I'm going to email Tony again and clarify.

Just for shipping purposes, as i heard customs can be an issue. I'm thinking about upgrading to the EMS shipping, and see if its worth it. It looks like for you it has worked out good. :)

Let's see.... we are talking about a film based on a nuclear holocaust that occurs in the future.... and it is being shipped from Korea to the US. I think US Customs will want to take a good look at this one. EEK!

All kidding aside, I just ordered a few steels from KimChi for the first time and am still awaiting their arrival. I believe the limit is $200 for non-gift....and I can't imagine they are as strict as over in Europe. Hopefully they will arrive soon or I will start to worry about my 2 T2 copies. I really can't imagine customs being an issue.
