There are pics in the OP showing the slip. But yes, it is a full slip, closed on all four sides but the top and bottom (i hope or we aren't going to be getting our steel )

Full slips on steels are usually open on the to and the bottom, except for the Blufans Jack Reacher... I think

Well I think both these things are required especially the cotton gloves or even better - Microfiber Gloves to prevent any chances of lint getting on the steelbook and yes a lint free environment

Jack Reacher looks like a slipbox from the pics I've seen, open along one side, and not the top or bottom.

Well now I know the difference, thanx...so there are slip boxes and slip covers, ok. Summary: steelbook will be covered by a slip which is open at the top and the bottom.
