During the emergence of Taiwan New Cinema, the state-run Central Motion Pictures played a significant role in not only fostering directors of the movement, but the development of Taiwanese cinema in general. Under its new management, the revamped Central Pictures Corporation has digitally remastered six classic films from the 80s and the 90s, producing brand-new digital prints that guarantee to overcome the test of time. After Dust in the Wind, four more of these films are arriving in high-definition on Blu-ray for fans to see these films the best way they have ever looked before.
A shooting in the heart of Taipei sends several characters on a collision course in Edward Yang's ensemble drama The Terrorizers, which is influenced by the works of Michelangelo Antonioni. A researcher sells out a co-worker for a promotion, but it comes at the price of neglecting the troubles of his novelist wife. The girlfriend of the shooter manages to escape police custody, but her mother keeps her imprisoned at home, where she finds other ways to cause trouble. Meanwhile, a wandering photographer who captures the shooting moves into the apartment and becomes infatuated with the escaped girl.
