TGS reveal for Suda 51/Mikami horror title?

EA Partners’ David DeMartini has indicated that Goichi Suda and Shinji Mikami’s forthcoming horror collaboration may get a formal reveal at this year’s Tokyo Game Show in September.

Speaking during a chinwag with Eurogamer, DeMartini stressed that it was important for EA not to attempt to westernise Suda’s work, revealing the Japanese dev has been given all the creative freedom he needs for the project.

“We’ve allowed [Suda] the opportunity to fully explore his creativity,” he said. “The key thing is not for us to tone down Suda or try and westernise Suda, but to try and make sure the game gets broad enough exposure that more people appreciate it.”

Crucially, however, when quizzed by Eurogamer if a Japanese September reveal for the game made sense and was a possibility, DeMartini replied, “Yes.” Furthermore, when Suda himself was quizzed about the game’s unveiling during an event last week, the Japanese dev replied: “I’m not sure. But of course, please come to Tokyo.”

If that wasn't enough fuel for the fire, EA will be hosting a special showcase event just before TGS, where it is expected to lift the lid on several new projects.

Cuthbert confirms PixelJunk Lifelike for TGS reveal

Dylan Cuthbert of Q Games has confirmed that PixelJunk Lifelike will be getting a full reveal at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show this September.

The developer revealed on Flickr that he was in the process of scouting for a filming location to use in a promo video for the game’s full unveiling at the Japanese trade show next month.

The project was first shown via a slide panel at GDC earlier this year, and takes the form of a visualizer for PlayStation 3 featuring a collaboration with PixelJunk Eden’s Baiyon.

Fans of the series can also look forward to the release of PixelJunk Shooter 2 later this year.

Some things I noticed about the current Sony list:

No resistance 3
No Last Guardian
No FFVXIII

I bet the unannounced title will be Versus

The Last Guardian confirmed for TGS 2010

Sony Europe has confirmed that Team ICO's hotly anticipated PS3 outing The Last Guardian will be making an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show next week.

It was originally thought the title wouldn't have any presence at the annual Japanese trade show after it failed to show up on Sony's TGS 2010 line-up, which we reported on last week.

Masterminded by Fumito Ueda, The Last Guardian hasn't been spotted since last year's Tokyo Game Show, and it remains unknown what exactly will be shown off at this year's event, whether it be a brief trailer or actual gameplay footage.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Vietnam to appear at TGS

Swedish developer DICE has revealed it will be showcasing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 expansion Vietnam at the Tokyo Game Show next week.

For those unaware, the expansion pack will offer players four extra maps to tackle, in addition to extra weapons, vehicles and Vietnam-specific unlocks such as fresh Achievements and Trophies.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Vietnam will be available for PSN, Xbox LIVE and PC later this year.

The Tokyo Game Show kicks off on September 16.

Capcom to unveil four new games at TGS this week

Capcom Europe has confirmed that the publishing giant will be announcing a plethora of new titles at this week’s Tokyo Game Show – four, to be precise.

In addition, it sounds like we’ll also get some fresh info on Marvel vs Capcom 3 in the form of new playable characters.

Writing on its Twitter account, the firm said, “Tokyo Game Show this week. If i had to guess at the Capcom announcements I’d guess at 4 new games announced and some new MvsC3 characters.”

Quite what games the company has up its sleeves remains a mystery, though one popular belief doing the rounds on the web is that a Resident Evil 6 announcement may be on the cards following comments from Keiji Inafune a few weeks back.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 listed on Segs for TGS

Sega has apparently self-sabotaged its reveal of Valkyria Chronicles 3 for this Thursday at Tokyo Games Show. The publisher accidentally posted its schedule for the show (now removed), which had Valkyria Chronicles 3 listed on it.

We've known for a couple weeks now that something Valkyria related was being premiered at TGS, ever since the teaser site went live. Of course, the one big question still hasn't been answered: will the game be for PS3 or PSP?

Tekken director planning TGS announcement tomorrow

Tekken series director Katsuhiro Harada has let slip that he’s planning on announcing something at the Tokyo Game Show this Saturday.

Writing on his Twitter, Harada teased, "TGS Sep 18(Sat) at Tougeki Booth. I'll announce something :D."

Quite what Harada-san has up his sleeves remains unknown, though considering he is currently tied up with brawler Tekken x Street Fighter, there’s a strong chance we’ll hear something pertaining to the hotly anticipated crossover fighter.
