Would it be okay if we decide not to speculate and gossip here? I think it would be helpful. There's enough of that in the media. Love a thread to talk about some of Gene's movies though! Or him as a man, if anyone has any insight... :)
Further to other posts the daughter has confirmed carbon monoxide poisoning as the cause of the death which the police are looking into. So any "speculation" is no longer required.

She's speculating at this point and can't confirm anything without investigation and post mortem. TMZ got this opinion from her. That's why I wanted to avoid it on the forum post. Media vultures like TMZ circle at moments like this. Hard to differentiate hard facts with reporting sometimes.

At the end of the day if that's the cause at least it's not a murder or anything else. Carbon monoxide because of the bohr shift is a serious danger in any home. Known too many people over the years whom have died from it.

I was taking a look at my collection and it dawned on me the depth and breadth of his roles, you can see just how many fundamental movies Gene Hackman was involved in, some in pivotal or genre defining films, some in smaller character roles but no less important; they covered almost every decade of his career beginning in the Sixties and each and every decade that followed until the turn on the century.
What a wonderful career this guy had. It's not that I'd forgotten but rather due to his retirement and no new roles over the last 20 years, he kind of unintentionally blended into the past in my mind and became a part of that "Golden Age" of Hollywood.
Damn he was good.

One of my favorite actors, even though I'm far from seeing many of the movies he was involved in yet. Started collecting his filmography a couple of years ago.
My favorites are Get Shorty, Heartbreakers, and Heist - these 3 also show his range very well.

I think he was interviewed a while back and he made it clear he found making films stressful and wanted to retire and relax and he kept to his word....

40% off of their fake mrsp price, so yeah.. pretty poor offer
It's poor on The Conversation as it was just priced so high in the first place but it's good value on everything else. The price I paid to get the Den of thieves set earlier, now that was criminal.

i honestly dont think so... those catalogue title PETs were 25-30$ before lionsgate opened their shop and made them 10$ more expensive for no reason

the price is alright now and what it always should be.. but far from what youd expect from a 40% off sale
