Today I've learned that people like to see the items they're paying for going soldout before (or worst, after!) they can complete the payment process. To each their own I guess but sites selling tickets to events give customers a few mins to complete their order so it's not my idea but something already used by others.
Anyway it would be easier knowing how many copies actually are for sale because the "production numbers" are of no use if I don't know, for example, that # copies have already gone.
But again, I'm just ranting 'cause I'm pissed, I know...

When you are the fastest you get straight to the checkout.
When too many come at the same time, the server cant process them all at once and you get queued with a timestamp of the moment you sent your request to check out to the server.
And the queue works like a normal queue, first comes, first served. It's as fair as it gets

Thanks. It would still be better if everyone entered the queuing phase as it would still be first come first served and everyone would have the same experience.

No logical reason for group buys and certain no logical reason for group buy hosts not offering a group buy but still selling their allocation at insane prices lol
Yes, I went on another site and most stock of the group buy was reserved for regular buyers. How do you become a regular buyer if you can never secure a copy because of previous buyers. You need to wait for one to run out of money or die.

The solution is simple: you've put something in the cart? You have, 5/10 mins to checkout. I mean picture this: you're at supermarket, you've grabbed one of the latest pack of toilet paper and, while paying, someone grabs it, pays for it and runs away. Jeez I'm boiling...
Yeah it’s total bs. If it’s in your cart they should give you time to checkout

You have to buy some of the sh!t films too lol nobody wants those, so some gbs struggle to fill their allocations. It's a whole loyalty thing, or simply someone who has genuinely been buying from a host for years.

I don't like it if I'm forced to buy sh!t I don't want, I draw the line there. But pushing a chunk of my business in one direction, to keep a relationship, I'm fine with that. It's all about balance.

Terrible idea cuz you’d have people carting them just to cart with no intention of buying and holding the stock “hostage” so to speak.
This would happen and then pre orders would last 2 hours of constantly checking because of them popping back in and out. It’s happened a few times with plain archive and Nova and it’s a headache, no one’s got time for that and wastes your day. Same as when HMV stock goes in and out. So yeah I agree people would hold them hostage

Has anyone complained to manta about him? If enough of us do surely they’ll listen and stop his allocation that he no longer uses on GBs. If they can cancel Kosm then surely they can with him too. I know the kosm issue seems to be different and to do with him also trying to make steelbooks but it’s worth a shot if enough of us complain.

Not to my knowledge. I'm not sure the general population are aware it's happening. Maybe it's worth making the instagram + Facebook commenters aware on the next announcement post

I’m more than happy to lead the resistance, I’d take great pleasure in it. I think we should also open a thread here, decide a time and date, tag enough people, get them all to agree on the deets and blast manta with emails and then in turn blast him out the water. I’m sure he’ll float…

Not quite, the suggested system would mean if you get it into your cart you can complete the sale, the current system lets you get it into your cart, go through all the steps including payment only to find it's sold out even if you're quick.

I went from adding to cart, checkout, queue, paypal to out of stock notification on return in under a minute. System's working great.
Lol
Then you would not get it into cart with suggested system. Same result

Like I literally just said it's very different to an individual to not be able to add something to your cart because it's out of stock versus going through the entire process including payment only to find out it's gone. I am not suggesting that's the system they should adopt because every system has its own pros and cons, I am just explaining there are some clear differences.

It doesn't even really matter what system is used when all the copies are sold in under a minute, people are going to be disappointed if supply and demand are this badly out of whack.

Got burried in work today and thus forgot about it. But I love this movie and love Batman so will just get it eventually on the after market for a higher price, whatever. You win some you lose some, that's the game.
