I am not returning Little Mermaid, Its simple but should have been glossy (and its a bit too simple), and I am definitely keeping Wreck It Ralph, its a beautiful steelbook! I just hope they give us nice artwork in future AND SHOW US THE WHOLE STEELBOOK!

What bothers me is that no one seem to plan this collection in advance to make sure spine, layout and artwork is consistent. I don't want identical looking steelbooks, I love that Wreck-it-Ralph doesn't look like Aladdin etc, but things tend to go wrong when only one release is designed at a time.

Disney is notorious for not being consistent with their releases. The tend to start some collection, and then they change their mind halfway through and come up with a new design or decide not to release certain films after all.

Walt Disney Treasures was probably their most consistent effort ever, until they finally decided to give it up. Then there was the short-lived Legacy collection, that had content switched around over and over before release, just as with the unreleased Fantasia World 3-disc blu-ray collection (Fantasia/Fantasia 2000/Fantasia World).

I hope Zavvi and Disney decided to do a better effort at this going forward. I'd love to for once have a collection that feels 'complete'.

Zavvi is releasing the Lone Ranger soon. Does that mean #5 is going to be the Lone Ranger? I am pretty sure its a Disney flick. I was hoping for something better.

I've just had an email from Zavvi which reported that the next Steelbook in the Disney collection will be Disney's Planes. And it is available for pre order at a cost of £22.99.

I would certainly love steelbooks of some live action Disney films, but not as part of this collection. (Although Mary Poppins I wouldn't mind, along with the other animation/live action hybrids.)

As I posted elsewhere, this isn't called the Disney Classic Collection. The are loads of fantastic Disney films that aren't animated that could/should be included.

The problem with that though is deciding what films belong. There would be hundreds and hundreds of choices. In a Disney Classics collection, there would at least be no question as to which films belong. Plus it would have at least a shot at eventually being "complete".
