I have most of the Disney Steelbooks from Zavvi but I don't think they will be releasing Snow white, Pinocchio, Cinderella, & Sleeping beauty any time soon as they were released by Future Shop not that long ago, but you never know.



I to am waiting for Robin Hood, Sword in the Stone, & am surprised they didn't release as steel for the anniversary of Marry Poppins.

What has been released by one retailer, in another country has no effect at all on the Zavvi releases. They will all come eventually

Actually between the Pixar releases and the classic releases being so many in such a short time I have cancelled most of them. Zavvi's bucket loads at once policy have made me stop getting them. Now I will only get the ones the films I like a lot rather than a bit. It has taken a lot of enjoyable effort to get the releases on Bluray with slips where I can and steelbooks were I can.

Releasing so many so quick has made it less enjoyable if that makes sense.
New releases such as Frozen I will be all over but not the back catalog releases. One exception will be Fantasia as I really like that one

Yep I've also cancelled all my Disney & Pixar preorders. If the releases were spaced out more then I would've got the whole collection but its just to much at once. I haven't got that many Disney or Pixar blu rays so I'm just daily checking eBay for bargains now. Classic numbers on Disney make the collection look fantastic and the normal search for one with slipcovers. I managed to find a monsters inc with slip in a local cex last week in very good condition and it looks great on the shelf.

I slightly regret Jungle book steel on release as its so much cheaper now but I'm just glad to own it in my collection as its one of my favourite disneys. If Zavvi end up doing Mulan, Tarzan & Hercules then I might can them in steel bust it only depends on what the amaray price is at that time as the anarchy will come with classic number.

I slightly agree there. They are coming too fast. In fact, so fast, that I have cancelled all steelbooks apart from Disney. And if they keep coming at this rate I may need to sacrifice either the pixars or the classics. I may not be able to afford both.

I can't help but feel though these little plugs here and there could be more subtle as I am reading through the last pages of this thread and understand many ninjas dismay at the rate these are flying out and many members not being able to afford to keep up. Which I think is a very sad situation. Then right in the middle of all this you get a psssssst frozen live in next 2 days. While I am very happy with any info we get I just feel the plugs could be placed with a little more tact. But thanks anyway.

You mean the way that every single Zavvi thread and the price drop thread are spammed with purchase links? I appreciate the heads up when titles are going live, have dropped in price or are back in stock, but when the post reads 'just in case you missed this * link *' it is really annoying. I understand HDN have to make money to keep the site running, but as you say it could be more subtle.

IMO, Zavvi had a great opportunity to make this a great collection. They had a great start with Aladdin, but since then have made errors in applying the wrong type of finish for famed Disney releases. All have been matte since Aladdin and from the mock ups only The Lady and the Tramp looks promising. I'd be happy to pay the premium prices also if they would actually include all the discs. The single disc release on most steelbooks is really getting old. Why not cater to a fan base by making these some sort of ultimate edition i.e. good steelbook + appropriate content.

Jungle book does look ok. Not to fussed about it though I didn't buy it initially. The rest though are just dissapointing and the future ain't looking brighter. I really want frozen for example but looks from the mock up, the finish will be matte. Content seems fine.

Totally agree, that's why personally I have been skipping these except if there was a significant price drop like Jungle Book's, easy pass for me.

The only ones I'm collecting are the 'classic' ones I used to love when I was a kid. Just cancelled Fantasia as I couldn't stand it when I was younger haha
