Geek Tragedy, I am deadly serious here that Zavvi should hire you to design the steelbooks for them, since they have ruined some good potential steelbooks themselves.

Your artwork for Mulan and Sword in the Stone looks awesome, I would definitely buy them.

I can't believe some still haven't grasped the fact that Zavvi don't design the Steelbooks themselves.

Mary Poppins, there is a steelbook of a film that has been released, oh about a million times. Come on distributors, how about films we don't all own many copies of.

there really is no point to collecting these anymore. If all the finishes were the same it would be awesome, but you never know what finish it's going to be till it's released. IMO

I stopped at No. 2 and never looked back. The stark difference between the North American releases and these is just too wide. They were all gloss while these have all been matte except for Aladdin and have silly borders ( at least they are consistent with borders :hilarious: ) On top of that, Nemo and Roger Rabbit are missing in action.

I'd rather support retailers who actually push for a product their consumers will be happy with and release schedules more conducive to the average collector.

I wholeheartedly agree with some of the comments above (that if these artwork are the same as amarays or those previously released), that's a real shame, and terribly lazy of Zavvi, and why you stop. That said, as I don't own the amarays, I continue to pick these up and personally, they are bright and colourful and still a delight. For the moment, at least. But they keep at this, there is a imminent likelihood that even the allure of Disneys will be dented...

once on blu...a few months back granted, but luckily its a title I'm in no rush for.
As such, a steel would have been a no brainer, had it not been for the ridiculous price they are wanting.

for me its always been the choice of steel over ameray if and where possible - heck I still have my Sweeney Todd steel with the blue banner at the top and identical artwork to the ameray.
granted I'd prefer proper effort to be put into steels but if its a choice of the same art on a steel or plastic, I'll choose steel everytime with movies I'll be buying anyway.

It's sad that I'm such a Disney fan that I'll buy whatever they put out for this collection. Even Planes. Overall I have been pleased with them all though. I don't want to miss any, so I preorder rather than wait to see if the price drops. I'm the kind of customer Zavvi loves.

I'm finding myself focusing on these over other releases but also, so far, they've been great. Even the ones that seem to get loads of complaints about finishes etc I've liked so it's a safe series to get. Very keen to see what the next batch will be, at this point I'm hoping it's Fox and the Hound as well as Tarzan. Only one I've skipped is Fantasia but swapped that with Kimchi's awesome Tangled release.
