Agreed, I'd be all over that one. Kinda weird that they used a blue color scheme for the anniversary edition - the green foresty theme works much better with this movie.

Yeah, i noticed that too putting them together. Like... I can understand a blue bar or frame to signify that it's bluray, but the background being blue just doesn't make sense.

Last one I swear

I need me some Robin Hood. I was so disappointed that they released the 40th Anniversary Edition recently on just standard amaray with a slip. STEELBOOK ME!

These are two ideas i would do.
This uses the book from the intro to the movie:

Love the simplistic book front. Would be awesome with Gold lettering and embossed/debossed ornamentation. That said, I don't feel the back is quite right (Though I have to stress I love that it has the actual shading/colour scheme of the film as opposed to that glossed over Disney retail look). How about Prince John and Robin Hood together?

Not a big fan of those over crowded front covers to be honest. The shading here is a bit too plastic, especially if we take into account the film's actual art style. At least that the back art is accurate.

Thanks for contributing!

love the idea of using the vase art as steelbook cover. but if they go down that route the back should match. and from what i recall there would be plenty to choose from.

it would make for an awesome steelbook.

Love this. If these actual compositions don't quite fit the steelbook format (these are film stills, right?), there's got to be tons of similar looking (and less rounded) Hercules concept art to choose from? I've been wanting to get the 'Art of Hercules' book, but I can't find it anywhere.

Oddly enough, the only pic I can find of Robin and Prince John together is spaced out and doesn't look good.

The top 3 I want:

Mulan
Hercules
Lilo & Stitch

Then I can die happy.

If we get Mulan, I would love to see one of these as the front. The back something of the same style.

Agreed. Disney/Zavvi, if you're reading this... So many of us collectors are very very excited about this collection. So much so that we're willing to pay a higher price than we're used to. But in order to keep us excited and coming back for more, you really need to be giving a high quality item in return, otherwise people will start second guessing if it's worth it. This has already begun, with many people canceling orders for recent releases.

On Disney's end, this pretty much means one thing: provide high quality artwork. You have years and years of art at your disposal, and legions of amazing artists working for you now. Utilize them. Show us something we can't resist. We all love the Little Mermaid, and have been eagerly awaiting a steelbook release. So much potential, only to be met by dissappointment. A select few seem to really like it, which is great. But a quick visit to the Littlr Mermaid thread will show how many cancellations have been caused solely based on the artwork.

Zavvi - One, please don't keep us in the dark about the product we are paying for. To not show us what the product will look like only because you know full well that it isn't exciting enough to show is just bad business. And two, quality control. You've hopefully heard plenty of feedback on this already.

Give me a high quality product, and I promise you'll get my money for each and every 52 and counting Disney Classics. Give me a sub par product and I'll take my money elsewhere, as I am with Monsters University.

Considering Tangled is getting released in Asia, I would not be surprised if that is not the next one. I would be very happy though. I cant thing of any others that I would want that have not already come out here at futureshop that's not Pixar.

I cannot see myself ordering these unless there is a full disclosure of art, which may not happen until these actually get into the hands of members.

Here's hoping the next release isn't as much as a disappointment as TLM has been.

The steel needs the right treatment, finish and the best artwork that would reflect the feel of the film. No more half arsed jobs please!

This is Disney for petes sake!

It won't be. Wreck-it-Ralph's got both front, back and inside artwork (would be great with black disc art too but it's not happening), and as long as they make sure it is also glossy, it will be one of the best releases in the collection so far. Beyond that release, however, let's hope they can continue to improve.

Yea sorry I was referring to unannounced releases. I'm all over WIR. God help Zavvi if they mess that one up with the finish or production of it! :hilarious:
