Writer/director Nicolas Pesce’s nightmarish black and white psychodrama The Eyes of My Mother is a stunner of a horror movie; a stark, masterfully-crafted and admirably portrait of madness bred in the bone. In it, a little Portuguese girl named Francisca lives with her mother – a former surgeon – in a secluded farmhouse.
