Either that or shining or mad max. But then it could be Sony with the other Garfield spidey.

Tbh im hoping the godfathers have knocked a few of their schedule this year because it was at 16 already over 12 months and that’s just silly now. Add another 3 and they will reach new levels of ridiculousness. Cancel crow. Move Django to whenever the 4K is ready. That leaves spidey 1, fury road, F1, superman, shining and Mickey 17. Maybe leave fury road until next year so then that at least leaves 3 new films and 3 catalogue titles for the rest of the year
I could work with that. It's a bit more even. Problem is, that's all WB, apart from 1 Sony. Studios will probably want a wider mix.

Honestly the only ones I want from those are mickey, F1 and the shining. I do want Django too, but they should wait for the 4K, for sure. I'll probably end up buying superman, it just wasn't really for me tbh. I do not have very high hopes for Gunn's DCU.

Yeah was thinking that the WB thing may be a stretch. Paramount don’t have much more to offer me. I’d take the Pine Star Trek trilogy and first 3 transformers and personally I’d love a mutant mayhem premium but I’d rather manta step away from trilogies and multiple films like that and mission impossible for example. I know a lot will disagree. But f**k em

I can’t order Spiderman 2 and not want the first but I do also really want a decent Fury Road. I like the zeta but the lenti is a tad blurry plus I wana upgrade to 4K and I’ve not liked the tradewide steels

Honestly I need to see superman again I wasn’t too big on it either. Had its moments but yeah needs a 2nd watch because I like all of Gunns other films but maybe this will be the one that breaks that.

I am thinking The Shining for Halloween.

Paramount have loads, including pulp fiction, if that ever materialises. I do just hope they pull great single catalogue titles out of the bag and not all 8 MI and Transformers films... there is zero chance I'm going down that rabbit hole.

I didn't buy tasm2, as I've got the weet fs, which is much nicer imo. I could go for a tasm 1, artwork depending, as I've never really liked my weet fs for that. Fury road, I'm good with the hdz 4k DL. I will rewatch superman, but it was just too fluffy for me. The tone even made gotg look dark, which is some feet.

Steelbooks for franchise films gets boring.

Be interesting how the Paramount titles will operate going forward now that the merger with Skydance has gone through.

If anyone at manta is reading this, DO NOT cancel the crow or wait for an unconfirmed 4k of django, people have been working on having a complete QT full slip collection since nova's reservoir dogs, waiting for some magical unconfirmed 4k will just lead to it getting canceled, if/when the 4k happens there will be a steel book for sure and most here will just pick that up. If they wait DU will just end up like KB 1+2 and PF.

As for the crow, it's has a massive fan base and it's a sure fire hit, look at the recent 4k steel books, they went OOS pretty quick, it's never had a premium slip either, cancelling that would be stupid compared to something like micky 17, M17 failed at the box office and all the steel books are still in stock, theres nowhere near the demand for it as something like, furry road, the shining, the crow, django unchained ect, unless the botch the artwork these will definitely sell.

Next part isn't really in response to Flloydo's post but my feelings on what manta should try work on next.
IMO Manta should work on getting licensing for one off movies rather than films with long lists of entries like kong, transformers ect, pick some stuff that have a big fan base or are classics with a few entries like max 3 or less, I'm thinking of films like:
the warriors, silence of the lambs-red dragon, the usual suspects, memento, good will hunting, american beauty, road to perdition, once apon a time in america, scarface, heat, lock stock and two smoking barrels, snatch, there will be blood, no country for old men, prisoners, catch me if you can, trainspotting 1+2, fargo, gran torino, children of men, grand budapest hotel, stand by me, a dog day afternoon, one flew over the cuckoo's nest the list goes on and on.

There's so many films worthy of the premium treatment but have been overlooked or have one sub par release like Heat from filmarena for example, manta could really do something special with these titles. Just look at the form on here for films in need of the steel book treatment, the list is never ending :shipped:

I would love to see some scorsese films like good fellas, wolf of wall street, taxi driver, raging bull, gangs of new york ect get the premium treatment instead of more mceu/dceu stuff. If they're gonna do series with several of instalments they should do something like die hard 1-3, the Hannibal trilogy, back to the future, the girl with the dragon tattoo or the first 3 mad max's to match FR and Furiosa, movies with a big fan base and one or no previous premium release.

It’s essentially a list of decent films we’d all love to see in premium format for which a
a lot can’t be released due to being Fox titles n other various reasons. A lot of them have potential to happen though. But for some reason it’s basically just a list of films
Christ. They'll come to realise hopes and wishes are pointless in this game. A realistic wishlist, in a simple bulletpoint format. Job done. To many large paragraphs for my attention span

If something were to drop off the slate I wouldn't be mad at Mickey 17, and I say that as a huge Bong fan. For a film with a lot of buzz it's pretty much left the conversation this year, as did Bong's last US coproduction. The posters are also pretty boring, mostly re-using the same art assets and with the best one already on a trade-wide steel. Would much rather diving into more of Tarantino or Kubrick's back-catalogue.

Sadly missed the first due to PayPal, so sadly won’t be on the others but the direction of the art is good gonna be a nice set

Underwhelming movie, was expecting way more.

Well you got me sperging out when you posted saying cancel the crow and delay django and I kinda went a bit over board expressing my current opinion of the steel book/premium slip game :shipped:

There's lots of stuff getting released soon or has recently been released that was becoming an on going joke that we'd never see them release i.e. the Fincher films getting 4k's and steel books or the James Cameron and Tarantino 4k's, so with enough pushback and a never say never attitude we might see more of what I listed and less marvel film 83.

I do understand where your coming from with stuff being tied up with licensing like with fox properties but I did list some films that could get a premium with some effort and the list was more of generally what kind of films I wanna see get released apposed to seeing all the premium retailers doing MCEU + DCEU films endlessly. For example we're finally getting a master and commander 4k steel book, if it sells well, I'd like to see manta try and get a premium for something like that or Barry Lyndon, one flew over the cuckoo's nest etc.
None of us are reading that, let alone anyone from manta
It's not like I don't get that but in the off chance a company that produces niche product in a niche market would do some research on one of the biggest platforms talking about their products I'd like them to see a variation of opinion.
Look at BF6, COD streamers have been posting online asking for BF6 to be more like COD when the actual player/BF fan base want it to like a BF game and not be Codified but unfortunately many publishers in recent years have pandered to streamers and it hurts the game and franchise in the long run.
