So guys when is part 3 up for pre order
I don't mind when the PO is but I'm more concerned that part 3 with include all discs, previous 4k steel book set part 3 only came with the coda cut 4k disc and not the one that includes the theatrical cut bonus disc, that disc was only included in the 1-3 4k boxset and the big book version. Really hoping manta includes it in a spare envelope like they have with a few other releases that had 3 discs. In the pic it's the first black disc, it's 4k with bonus on it, think it includes the special features too.godfather-4k.jpg

99% it'll just be coda, the same as the amaray and steelbook. That's the new official name for the film, the same as blade runner and Apocalypse now with the final cut monikers. The old cuts are redundant & typically won't be included anywhere. The same story with the additional extras disc that's in that set. Neither were intended for wide distribution.

I've got a feeling you'll most likely be right but I'm still a little hopeful, if I remember correctly I think nova included all the discs for apocalypse now but again that was included in the trade wide release. I really wish they just had it as part of the wide release, seems like a stupid thing to leave out, the theatrical version sucks as we all know but kinda feels like a George Lucas type decision, until I see the coda cut I don't know if it's better or worse.

I would suggest watching it. Coda is definitely the best version of Godfather 3, without a doubt. It doesn't reinvent the entire film, but it now doesn't sh!t on the series like it used to.

You're giving me hope haha. Will need to check it out if you're giving it that high praise, tbh don't think I'd really like to watch the theatrical version again anyway from what I remember it was terrible from my first watch but I've been thinking of giving it another try since it was the play.com trilogy steel book release when I last watched it like 10+ years ago. I was in my late teens back then and I've always felt like I might appreciate it more now since shedding my baby brain

I still would of liked the disc to be included tbh, I don't really like cut's or bonus discs being left out of certain releases, I'd much rather sacrifice the extra blu ray disc instead IMO.

Like I said, it is not transformative. It's not like zack synder's justice league, totally different film vibes. Idc if you don't like dc, everyone does need to appreciate how much of a different film, of the same film, that actually is. Very similar with his ultimate cut of BvS. They do change things entirely. It's also not like the Director's cut of kingdom of heaven. It's not that great.

If you set your expectations halfway between kingdom of heaven dc and blade runner final cut (as in being the better cut, not the pure quality of the films), that's where I'd put it. It doesn't reinvent the story, but it closes the trilogy quite well, and doesn't **** on the legacy. It's mainly the ending change that does it tbh.
