Received my premium box. Hmm… I must say Plain is taking great risk with its packaging this time. Bubble wrap is scarily only 2 layers thick. A thin layer cardboard is wrapped round the sides in the gap between the bubble and shipping box. This itself is useless to absorb any impact. Plain’s shipping box is soft to begin with. There are extra layers of bubble padded at the top and bottom, but it’s the sides and edges that are most vulnerable.

Fortunately my box wasn’t dropped or dented in transit this time. I’m expecting quite a few damaged ones though if the same packaging is used for all, given that handling drops and knocks are pretty common.

I agree about the packaging. It's really quite shocking, coming from Plain. Even my simple amaray Oldboy I got from them a few years ago came wrapped an inch thick in bubble wrap. With this, it's like they just don't care.

The lid of mine has two slightly squashed corners and a big crease that I can see without yet removing the shrink wrap. Looks like it's been manufactured like this though, I don't think it's damage in transit...

Not sure what to do now, I can't see them sending out a replacement for these minor issues, but for such an expensive set, I expected it to be in perfect condition and well packaged.

This is the entirety of the bubble wrap they used to package this for international shipping:

There was a small dent in the slipcover of the SteelBook also.

Now I'm having issues with the discs, my player won't play them in 4K, only 1080....
Damn. How bad is the dent? If it wasn’t caused by shipping, then it’s bad QC which we have to worry about.

Plain can send replacement lid and slip box, but then we expect perfect copies in the first place, as you’ve said. :dunno:

Mine is still apparently stuck at Heathrow, my tracking hasn't updated in weeks now.

I've tried checking Royal Mail tracking and that has even less info on it, I figured with delays bound to happen and the strikes it'd be late so I wasn't worried, but I haven't received any updates for tracking in 2 weeks now and people are starting to get deliveries.

It says “delivered to destination post”. Wouldn’t that mean it is with Royal Mail somewhere?

Nah, that just means it's reached the delivery station within the airport. It hasn't hit, or passed through customs yet. Then royal mail pick it up to enter it into their "network". RM tracking often updates when it hits customs, but they don't physically have it.

I think it's safe to assume, that in this case the 'damage' is elsewhere...
heathers what is your damage GIF

Only very small. That's the thing, it's too small to warrant a replacement really, which is frustrating. I'd pay more money to get guaranteed perfect condition.
