But the remaining discs are DVD copies which proves how lazy Warner is. If I had supervised the release, I would have squeezed the contents of 9 DVDs into 2 BD-50s which could have easily fitted into 2 out of the 3 Steels.

This won't help as LOTR isn't released by Warner / New Line in the UK. The discs are Region B locked too to the best of my knowledge.
