Some weeks ago I discovered The Numero Group and now I want to introduce more people to this great selection of music.
It's a reissue label based in Chicago. Releasing hidden and forgotten gems, remastered and released in premium format.
Check their website for Information on themselves and all of their releases: http://www.numerogroup.com
I discovered them through their Eccentric Soul series. This summary above in the spoiler of their series is already outdated. They added more series to their catalog. I can't recommend their releases highly enough.
It's most of the time music you never heard about. Forgotten gems. Remastered and pressed on audiophile records, in a beautiful gatefold sleeve with a booklet attached to it and lots of pictures & text.
Their releases are really affordable. Over here I pay 18,99 EUR for a record. When you'll get one in your hands you will feel like it's a steal. A bargain for this kind of quality!
They also offer a subscription service: http://www.numerogroup.com/products/numero-group-subscription
You can find all of their releases in streaming services like Apple Music. And on their website you can also listen to every record. Please try it out, give some of them a spin. Even if it's country or genres your normally not familiar with, it's worth a listen, trust me!
Those are some examples of their releases, they bleed quality. At first two "regular" Numero Group records that would go for 18,99 EUR. Below them some beautiful boxsets full of awesome music. Click the titles to listen to the records on their website:
Wayfaring Strangers Series - COSMIC AMERICAN MUSIC - NUM058
Eccentric Soul Series - THE DEEP CITY LABEL - NUM007
White Zombie - IT CAME FROM N.Y.C. - NUM204
Purple Snow - FORECASTING THE MINNEAPOLIS SOUND - NUM050

The Numero Group is an archival record label that creates compilations of previously released music, reissues original albums, and creates album reconstructions from a variety of musical genres.
With more than 175 titles in our diverse catalog of LPs, CDs, cassettes, 45s, 12"s, and DVDs, every Numero production is a modest miracle of localized sound creation, a shedding of fresh light on the efforts of men and women who sang, played, recorded, and peddled—largely to shallow rewards, if any.
Eccentric Soul, our flagship series, has documented lovingly mishandled soul labels from Columbus, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Phoenix, Atlanta, Miami, and Kansas City. Our Wayfaring Strangers compilations collect the privately issued song-fruits of wandering folkies. Each Cult Cargo release visits the sonic shores of some tiny, isolated nation, while Good God! titles seek the profanely spiritual, as enshrined on reels of audio tape neglected until now. And with Local Customs we investigate isolated, mom-and-pop recording outfits, each operated by a homespun Alan Lomax who gave neighbors and friends studio time, a microphone, and a shot at being heard a generation later. We’ve even crossed the street from time to time to deliver hidden worlds of unsung power pop, kitchen-sink New York disco and rap, kid-group soul, fiery rockabilly gospel, Franco-Belgian electro-samba, phantom blaxploitation funk, psychedelic heartland pop, orchestral UK chanteuse folk, decaying art-soul, the forebears of Minneapolis Sound, and Chicago’s funk-blues club life captured in glorious black & white.
