Is there a thread for the worst packing ever ? I honestly do not believe it, and from Amazon of all. This arrived this morning with no packaging whatsoever just the docket slip on the front. Believe it or not, only damage: a minute tear in the shrink on the side.

That's crazy!! More so that it got there almost in perfect condition!

Let's hope it's just a minor oversight on their part and not a cost saving exercise over Christmas period

That is insane! What kind of idiot packaged that!

I guess that is what you could expect now when they have extra help for Christmas.

Thankfully it's replacement came today by Special Delivery in a proper box, and beautiful it looks too. But I refuse to use Collect+ so I have to pay for the postage and reclaim it.

Pleasure and pain!

Glad you got a decent copy in the end though. And you can probably lay claim to having had the worst 'packaging' ever possible!!

I was shocked to see this arrive in plastic wrap by Amazon. Surprisingly, it was in mint condition. However, it was a big disappointment after seeing how Amazon has improved its Steelbook packaging over the last few months. Anyway, I sent them an email, and this is how they replied:

"Further to your e-mail, I'm very sorry to hear that "The Passion Of Joan Of Arc (Blu-ray + DVD) - Steelbook" was not received with our usual packaging, being an avid collector of steelbooks myself I understand how easily the item could have been damaged.

I will ensure that your feedback is directed to the relevant department who will use your comments to improve upon Amazon.co.uk's packaging and work with manufacturers to provide more protection to items where possible

Please accept my apologies for any concern that this may have caused however, I would like to assure you that we always take full responsibility for the safe delivery of your order and, if your order were to have been damaged in any way, we would have replaced it free of charge."

Of course it's no use asking for a replacements if the item is OOP. However, I still prefer to deal with Amazon over other retailers, not least because the great website functionality. Zavvi is a nightmare, because I have to view individual orders to know what I got.

Absolute bargain at £9.99! I paid about £2-3 more recently and haven't even watched it yet! It's Dreyer though and MoC and the best steelbook package they've done to date probably (but I obviously don't own the Metropolis steelbook)!
