Completed The Penguin (The Batman spinoff) (Season 1) [Max]

This weeks was the slowest episode but it’s still great

#Me too. But every week 1 episode won't do it for me
Yeah, hate it! I've put that down to the reason why I didn't enjoy season 2 of House of Dragons... I binged season 1 at my own pace and loved it, whereas I watched season 2 as each episode was released weekly and quickly lost interest.

In 'the old days' all shows used to be like that. You haven't watched seasons of "24" that way, 'amateurs', and there's actually 24 episodes in each - that's what, like 6 series of 'your' new shows nowadays... Although I can understand the crap-creaming now is just a 90-minute movie stretched into 8 hours, so you do lose interest.

Admittedly my attention span has gotten a lot worse with age, so there is that lol. The first ever TV show I properly got into was Lost (actually rewatching it now), and that was a b!tch for cliffhangers, so having to wait a week between episodes was rough. A part of me did enjoy it to some extent though... in a weird way it built up more hype for me, and back then I'd get a lift into work with someone else who loved the show, so we'd literally discuss our theories every single morning. We're spoilt for choice when it comes to shows nowadays though, so I've no time/patience to be waiting around for episodes to air, and I hate juggling multiple series' at once, so just want to blast through them and get it over with so I can move on to the next one.

We moved with the times.
Screw waiting if you don't have too.
If it's a complete arc per episode, I don't mind watching one each week or even waiting and doing a multiple of the season run. If it's 12 then - say 3, wait, 3 more, then wait etc.
But. If it's cliff hanger or annoyingly deliberate writing just to give the audience blue balls. I'd binge every time instead.
Lazy plot writing can put me off immediately and I'll switch to another show.

Brilliant last episode capping off a brilliant show. Whether it's The Batman 2 or a season 2 of this I can't wait to see where the story goes next

I'm sure I read that Farrell said he was done with this show. He commented that he absolutely couldn't take the hours and hours of make-up anymore coupled with the ridiculously early starts for it.

Quality show.

New quotes have come out saying he's on board

Holy f**k what an ending. Literally ended how I expected. Well 3 things panned out dead on how I imagined. Fantastic

Bring on Batman 2

He said that before the series premiered but now he’s confirmed he’s got 5/ 6 scenes in Batman 2 (similar to the first film) and he’s confident he’s in Batman 3

Best thing The Batman did was use the Penguin as small time and in the background so he can be used going forward which obviously exploded into this quality series. And going forward can’t wait to see what they do with him. He’s an absolute savage. A charming savage

Apparently they are going ahead with a joker series next with that Barry guy (to bridge Batman 2 & 3 like this has done for Batman 1 & 2)

This is cool - easter egg

Although I’d want someone else playing the Scarecrow but I did keep thinking is this guy supposed to be an early/ or another version of the Scarecrow

Also the courtroom curtains in the final episode are shaped like owls (court of owls) so I can’t wait to see that pan out

If a show is good enough you'll come back and if it's good enough it being weekly will also help build it up. Not every show needs to be weekly but I can't think of any of the biggest shows which would have become bigger hits because they were released all at once under the binge model.
