When did that happen?EEK!
Finally, the full slip totally deserves it :scat:

It reminds me of Leon, many people didn't realize its beauty until someone provide some amazing shots of the product

Had it in my cart last night, but stalled because I was hoping to pick up the lenticular for a decent price. :( Don't have the dough to buy up all the various editions unfortunately. Today it's sold out, so either this morning or late last night.

Can someone post some @earthscope quality pics of the lenticular? Thanks in advance!

P.S. @earthscope is presenting @ricster some mean competition

:hilarious:

I didn't buy the lenticular buddy or I would have posted pics of that also. But I'm sure Dom & ric will Oblige with their own pics.....

(...continued) You're right about the pics though. Stock pics always do a disservice to the actual products. If retailers spent a bit of time and love on pics, stuff would fly off the shelves willy nilly.

I think there have been lots of examples where the stock pics look better than the actual product though. That's why a lot of people would rather wait to see actual pictures instead of just seeing stock pics.

Aww that's too bad :(
I hope you'll find one soon with good price, I think there should be some in the trade forum here

Yeah, with so many releases these days, I have to be selective, I avoid buying every version of a release. If only every retailer provides us with some quality pictures like earthscope's prior to release date, it would make it much easier to decide which one to go with.

@robertjoseph17: you are absolutely correct! The only thing is, by the time someone posts an actual photo- the item is usually sold out. So I think (at least for me) customers purchase "blindly" on the assumption that the quality will match previous releases. Unfortunately Kimchi has been hit or miss lately. I will always love their exclusives, but they sometimes are not an exact depiction of what is shown on the pre-order page. In this case, I ordered the lenticular as the image in the OP looked amazing. The actual product though seems to be less sharp than the GIF above leads to believe. Hopefully this is something that can be remedied in the future ;)

True, it does work both ways. Best thing for collectors would be if they took their own in hand pics, which were shown on the product page. This of course wouldn't necessarily suit retailers, because if the products were crap in hand, they'd struggle to shift them :hilarious:

I had purchased a full slip and a lenticular, and as I don't want to keep duplicates or sealed copies, was completely torn as to which one to open...was leaning towards the lenti, but now earthscope's photos have created doubts in my mind...:))

Was thinking of an alternative...looking at the dimensions, I think (hoping...!!) the complete lenticular set will comfortably slide in to the bonus full slip....that way I will have the beautifully textured full slip and the lenticular inside it!! Only the booklet won't be there...I can then trade/sell my sealed full slip (without the bonus black full slip, of course!)....

I've just lined up my kimchi full slip collection, and must say this is one of the best. The detail in the finish, and the texture, the raised writing, the deep black and the gloss finish on the steel. I keep on picking it up, to double check.

Just was checking up on this from the Zavvi Pianist thread and what do you know? Kimchidvd's exclusive Pianist SteelBook editions are all sold out!

Nice

Great pictures earthscope! :scat:

You know the world is envious of the beauty that is the focus of our hobby so keep those pictures coming Ninjas!

I just received my copy of the full slip edition. I have to say the quality is amazing, the slipbox and booklet are awesome. The only other Kimchi title I owned before today was Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The difference is night and day. I said in the other The Pianist thread that I don't regret getting this edition and now I have it in my hands, i'm actually really glad I went for this. I hope Kimchi continue to release titles like this in the future too rather than re-release popular titles as I think it is where they excel.
