Over the years Roy Andersson has cultivated his incredibly idiosyncratic view of the world through his surreal, philosophical, humorous and, ultimately humanist cinema. His dedication to his work has made him one of the most revered auteurs of our time. A highly collectable limited edition, this collection not only boasts all of Roy Andersson’s critically-acclaimed works, but it also includes the exclusive home entertainment release of the BIFA-nominated documentary Being a Human Person. Following the making of what Andersson has proclaimed is his final film, About Endlessness, Being a Human Person is a deeply moving look at the life and work of this brilliant artist.

The 6-disc DVD/Blu-ray boxset includes:

A Swedish Love Story (1970)
Songs from the Second Floor (2000)
You, the Living (2007)
A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence (2014)
About Endlessness (2020)
Being a Human Person (2020).

Bonus Features:

A compilation of excerpts from Roy Andersson films

A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence
Director’s commentary
Behind the scenes featurette

Song from the Second Floor
The making of the burnt furniture scenes
The making of the magician scene
Obsessions from the Second Floor featurette

Anyone seen his films ? They are a bit like Wes Anderson films. Maybe more serious.
If at all interested give this short trailer a chance :

@Noodles @C.C. 95 @paulboland

I actually wandered across this impressive looking set on Zavvi the other day and meant to look up the director, since I'm not familiar with his work, but forgot all about it, so thanks for the tag.

Have you seen all the films included? And if so, which would you say is the best? Not that I usually take much notice of sites like IMDB and RT etc., but they seem to have pretty good ratings across the board!

@Noodles A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence. Hard to say if it's his best. But you might start from there. And if you do. Pls be open minded. And let me know what you think. No matter what, even if you hated it.
Cheers !

And I add @Flloydo he might enjoy stuff like this ...
