Divisive release but I think we can all agree after seeing this up close, steelbook of the year! I've never seen such a gorgeous doorknob before. I especially like how the matte layer doesn't even reach all the way to the top.

Tiny point but I do like how they cut out a bit of the j card for the title on the steelbook to show clearly rather than the normal approach of just printing the image duplicated. The spine is quite poor though, the text is very thin and faint, much worse than the older steelbook and the 4k logo is so tiny I don't know why they bothered.

I'd say the glossy layer doesn't reach the front face. :naughty:

At least the managed to do a great J-card. :D

BTW, do you like movies about door knobs? :D

Can someone confirm, the screws are debossed fully? They are not debossed around the edge of the screw, with the head of the screw embossed and then the Phillips groove debossed.

If so, its just really amateur hour as the details matter

Question is do you ignore the fact the steelbook is terrible but still get it being a good film.
I've not bothered.
I think this film is great, but I do not own a copy in any format. i would have picked this up in the past, but space, or lack thereof, now makes me question what to get, so I'm more choosy now.

A terrible steelbook is definitely a no buy. Even if the movie is great. Maybe I would have buy it in the past. But as @GeoRattray said, lack of space needs me to prioritize buys.
I only have a DVD for this movie. I may go digital for this one. Or I’ll may pick a 4K BR at a bargain price.

My signs just arrived. I wonder if it has bossing too. Hnmm. Could it be an absolute banger?
I didn't bother to cancel my order but the new steelbook is awful when compared to the old one. I had planned to sell it off but really glad I didn't get around to it.

Yeah I didn't see the original in hand but the photos are so nice. Isn't it debossed?

The title and crop circles are debossed but more than that it's just a nicely realised design, the orange and black colours with some metallic showing through make it look fairly omnious, perfect for the film really while the new design feels like it was done by someone who just read a plot summary. The new steel also moves the title down so the j card won't cover it which is a pet peeve of mine...
