Fantastic, just put through two orders using a code I generated early December and it worked for both.

I only had 1 old code and didn’t want to risk it after reading about them not working the other day so I tried with a newer one and I had the same issue everyone else has but then I read @djjez83, went back into my basket earlier and the (newer) code was still active on my items but no discount taken and that’s when I realised you can remove a discount so I tried it with the older one and success
They're not working currently unless you have an existing code from a while ago so I wouldn't worry about it. Theres an issue with either the site or HMV has stopped the incentive. How do you guys get the code as I couldn't see anything on this forum, so I've had a look on another forum and seen some links for codes but when I click the link I enter my email and always get this. Tried about 20 different ones is that normal or just bugged.

Someone sends you a link to the referral page, you enter your email which generates a discount code you can then use. You'll need to enter a new email if you're using an old referral link but the problem is newly generated codes aren't working so unless you did this a week or two back new codes won't help. How do you guys get the code as I couldn't see anything on this forum, so I've had a look on another forum and seen some links for codes but when I click the link I enter my email and always get this. Leave it until they reinstate it. I'm sure it'll be back after Christmas.Ok no worries and thanks for the info.
I've got about 300 quids worth of pre-orders in the basket so 20% is quite a saving but might just leave it for now.
Yeah, there's definitely a bug in the system, whether that be with the referral system, or with hmv itself. I've just managed to get hold of an old code, and it worked fine.HMV are still advertising the 20% refer a friend on the main site banner so I suspect it'll be back working at some point
So I tried another new code to check something. The new codes are 2 digits shorter than before so after ‘mm’ I added the ‘20’ that’s always in the codes (because it’s missing from the new codes I’ve seen) followed by the new CAP letters and the code still applied at the discount area but didn’t take the 20% off the items so even with adding extra digits it’s working but bugging out on the order total. Defo something glitchy up with it. And I can still remove the code that I’ve added to. WeirdYeah, there's definitely a bug in the system, whether that be with the referral system, or with hmv itself. Old codes are random generated so it's not like they're freely available. They're also one use only by the recipient of the code generator and it's linked to the email of the recipient. They stopped working about 10 days ago.Sounds like a web cache issue going on.
So how do you get old codes or is that when you submit an email address, get the code but don't use it for a few weeks?
What's there to say about the steelbook other than what we already know. Here's me thinking this a thread about The Social Network steelbook release. Well and truly catfished methinks!
They're intended only for new users for a one time first purchase. They could've easily updated the code not to accept coupons for those users that already had a discount once before, they might not ever start working again for ya'll.HMV are still advertising the 20% refer a friend on the main site banner so I suspect it'll be back working at some point
Yes but they don't seem to be working at all, I tried with a different client I don't normally use and had the same result. Given old codes are working I don't think it's tracking the account is and it's a code specific issue. They're intended only for new users for a one time first purchase. Yeah, it's very buggy. You don't even have to put a code in. You can type 12345678 and it still accepts it, but doesn't apply anything. So I tried another new code to check something.
