At this point, it is a really annoying slap in the face when we get blu ray editions touting that they were authored from a new 4K master.
Just give me the 4K master on a 4K disc, please.

100% agree. If you're going to the bother of using a 4k master just give us the 4k disc.

Turbine has slightly changed both artworks. Alas, I cannot update the OP.

Classic: has lost the VHS case slipcase, features the red UK theatrical motif instead.
Modern: has lost the red UK theatrical motif, has got a desaturated version of Struzan's poster instead.

So the posters are in English now? I wonder if that means anything for the book?

Honestly, the change kinda sucks. The Christopher Shy artwork + the red digipack looked sharp. I don't really like that it's a desaturated Struzan now.

The poster is English on one side and German on the other. Alas, they have hidden the cult-y DAS DING logo now. :)

As for the change: I welcome it, as I ordered the Classic edition. The sharp red digi slip wandered over to my version now. :)

Worth it just for this, very funny, if you don't have the Scream Factory release.
Picture quality of TV version is very poor it's SD
I have the shout release
Worse than a bad vhs bootleg release

It's that bad I stopped watching it and I will never view it again

The rest of the extras are worth watching just not the TV cut

You will have to wait until universal decide on a 4K UHD release that's if they have plans for one.

Universal own the 4K remaster rights not arrow or shout
Shout and Arrow got distribution licence for Blu-ray only

Third party distributors don't have licence to do 4K UHD release from Universal

It's very expensive for independent distributors to do 4K UHD especially when it's a film that they don't own the film rights and they have to licence from a film studio.

I think most are buying it for the Ulysses Cut, anyway.

Note the thing 1982 Blu-ray disc in these box sets is the universal 2008 vc-1 transfer

It's not the arrow 4k scan remaster or scream factory 2k scan remaster

Terror Takes Shape“ (86 Min.) Is the 1982 Blu-ray extra this has nothing to do with 2011 film

That extra is usually on the thing 1982 Blu-ray disc

Nope, it's the Arrow 4K transfer.

As for the bonus materials: I suppose Turbine decided to max out the bitrate for the main feature, so they put some of the bonus on the 2011 disc. Which actually works if you consider the 2011 prequel part of the bonus.
