Could now be an opportunity & don't know how feasible this is but perhaps it would be a chance to consult ninjas on the available options from studios, as your next move? @AstroC13
That would be an absolute mess. You can’t ask us anything in reality. Finishes etc yeah maybe. But titles… just let them do their thing without the collectors interfering with our 20,000 opinions.

This. Absolute god awful idea. End of the day, you need to pick what you feel is the best from what you can get. Having that open conversation with 1000s of collectors who don't understand the commercials behind it is pointless.

Plus, sharing a prospective list of titles to the public, before any of them have been signed off.. business suicide.

As excited as I am to see one of my biggest wants finally getting the premium treatment, the whole @AstroC13 situation makes it very bittersweet. Dan has planned and worked on his release for months, so it's frustrating to see he was given false hope and led on by the studio. I love Manta/Collectong (for the most part), but their slips in particular can be hit or miss, which is where Dan would've excelled due to him working with actual artists. I'd certainly be interested to see how his would've turned out, and hope there may still be a chance for it to see the light of day on the UK market somewhere down the line.

Exactly this. I personally would've expected Truman Show to receive an overwhelming amount of praise, but it's clearly been luke warm so far, so movie suggestions/predictions mean nothing. Best thing to do if they really wanted our input would be to suggest a small number of possible titles and have us vote.

If we (the collectors) had a say and in this instance a Paramount title id be suggesting Napoleon Dynamite every 5 minutes which only probably 10 of us would buy and id p!ss everyone off so much demanding it in every single thread it would get to the point it seems like I’m trolling.

If I had my own company I would not be asking you lot what should I release. I get so p!ssed off at the cancelled could’ve beens that I just want to know the title when it’s all planned and done and ready for pre order. Look at the list of now cancelled manta titles. Plain archive announcing world war z and Florida project years ago. Etc etc

We all think we’d help but it would be a nightmare. All thinking we know best or how it should be done. Although saying that I do think we should be able vote on what artworks manta should use on One Clicks

We are lucky with the few universal guys that have stuck here tbh. Look at everyone in the past from other companies joining and then lasting 5 mins before we get too much. The universal guys come on, explain the finishes, answer a few questions and duck out for 2 months. Perfect

I'm really surprised by all the negativity in the responses here (though I have no idea what Astro is, so maybe that's part of it). This movie has been one of my most-wanted premiums for years, so I'm thrilled with the announcement.

Was more of an A or B poll suggestion... rather than sift through 20000 opinions lol

Didn't Best Buy do a poll several years ago where you could vote for a selection of movies for steelbooks? Did anything ever result from that?

Haha sign me up for ND!

Agreed though... we've proven before that we're not great at making decisions as a community, since not everyone shares the same opinions/tastes, so a certain amount of folks are always gonna end up being disappointed. Imagine if they went with whatever @tha_lunatic suggested, we'd be stuck with a load of b-films from the 80s with wank art (n)

Universal are doing a fine job of it all, like you say. As is/was Dan before his plans got shot down at the last second... he would've taken us on the whole creative process from start to finish.

There’s been quite a few polls here for artwork choices. Even with Blufans if I remember.
With the power of complaint, back in the day with zavvi we managed to get the wreck it Ralph art changed and the disney classic wave to have better finishes but it’s also no different to Universal taking on feedback about their collectors set finishes.

Not sure why companies stopped doing polls for artwork. Probably because deep down we’re obnoxious to deal with in bulk lol
