Title: The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Tagline: The most Nicolas Cage movie ever.

Genre: Comedy, Action

Director: Tom Gormican

Cast: Nicolas Cage, Pedro Pascal, Neil Patrick Harris, Tiffany Haddish, Lily Mo Sheen, Sharon Horgan, Jacob Scipio, Paco León, Ike Barinholtz, Alessandra Mastronardi, Nicholas Wittman

Release: 2022-04-20

Runtime: 105

Plot: Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, Nick Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan. Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.

Finally watched this, unlike most other recent 'films' Nicholas Cage was in, it feels professionally done, with such simple things we take for granted, as editing, establishing shots, production value, overall it looks like a regular theatrical feature, not a film school student project, or an amateur YouTube short.
Like Ricky Jay used to say in Boogie Nights, "It's a real movie Jack!"

Lots of mentions and send-offs to previous Cage films, and some good scenes, overall a nice old-fashioned action comedy without any forced 'message' or agenda, but ultimately not too good. I probably won't even buy the steelbook.
